Lucian Bute is a perfect example of how today's fighters can become champion without

Even so, find me any fighter with 24 fights who has fought as many title contenders.

You don't get a shot without winning against at least the C grade fighters in your division. And you continue to misunderstand the point I'm making.

Bute has done more in 24 fights than 90% of the guys out there. Capice, Yet?

In his last 5 fights, Bute faced:

    Bika: top 10 Ring Magazine

    Berrio: Champ

Joppy: Easy first title defence against a well known American name, can't blame Bute for that one

    Andrade: top 5 Ring Magazine

    Zuniga: He was Showtime's choice

Bute's next fight is against Froch or Andrade, or so has been said for the last month. For a champ with 24 fights, not bad. Of course it's not the greatest resume of all time, but instead of staying a contender until he had 30 fights, he went for one of the belts early in his career.

I'm inclined to give Bute a pass here because the opposition he has faced, while not exactly elite, is acceptable and I will make the case as to why. Guys like Berrio, Bika, and Andrade make for very uncomfortable fights. Bika and Andrade in particular are grinders and are just gonna keep coming. Everyone knows about Andrade and Bika is a rough customer. Ask Joe Calzaghe. Berrio hits like a ton of bricks so he's not an easy foe for anyone either. It's one thing if you are fighting total bums and collecting paychecks. It's another thing if you're facing guys who can make life absolutely miserable even as you're beating them. Even a guy like Zuniga is a handful to fight because of his persistence and his toughness. It's to Bute's credit that he got him out of there so quickly cuz that could have just as easily been a long night as well.

What I'm getting at is that Bute has fought more than his fair share of hardmen when he could have been facing the Danillo Hausslers and the Brian Magees of the world. There are easier ways to both win and hold onto a title belt and Lucian Bute has not gone for them. Wrong guy to be using for your argument. I really like Edwin Valero but he's the posterboy for your argument.

The way I see it. With the proliferation of Bute haters. This means he's finally arrived on the world scene.

Actually, 4 of his opponents have been ranked in the Ring top 10 when he fought them.

I think it would be 50-50. I think Allan would have a better chance knocking out Bute than Bute knocking out Allan. Neither have been stopped but neither have granite chins. Allan has more power. Bute has beaten better opposition of the two.

    Let's see:

    Power: edge Green
    Speed: edge Bute
    Defense: edge Bute
Stamina: push (Green tires out and stops throwing punches after about the 8th round)
    Footwork: edge Bute
    Technique: edge Bute
    Chin: edge Green
Hand: edge Bute (southpaw vs orthodox)
    Experience: edge Bute
    Lateral movement: edge Bute
    Head movement: edge Bute
    Punching accuracy: edge Bute
    Workrate: edge Bute
    Interest in footwear: edge Green

Bute's got a whole lot of advantages on Green. Green has the proverbial puncher's chance, but that's about it.

Doesn't look to good on the Carl Froch front. Appears that Bute may have bottled it

If Froch had a U.K. television deal, the fight would be on for a long time.
Bute cannot wait more, he has to face his mandatory.

Getting your ass knocked (that ref was lenient as ****) out by Donnie McCrary is what made you give the chin edge to Green?

Pac is not a good example. Not if you're talking about his last 3 fights.

Let's get the facts right here....Froch's demand to box in the UK is preventing the fight cause his team can't secure a TV deal to cover for the lack of seats to sell in Nottingham....

In MOntreal, they'd get at least 17 000 asses in the Bell Center + SHOWTIME to cover it....

Time has run out because the IBF is pushing for Andrade-Bute II....

If that's what you think, then it helps prove my point, that pretty much nobody faces top fighters every single fight.
