The problem with Bute is that there will be nobody to fight at 168 all year in 2011. Steiglitz, Bika etc are meh fights.

He should go fight Pascal ASAP, that is a huge fight and he would win the undisputed LHW title.

Hopefully the winner of the Super Six does move up eventually and fights him.

Sounds like they're protecting him to face pascal. Old Joe Cokezaghi off a three year retirement or a Never has been whose only claim to fame is knocking out a chadow of Roy Jones (he won't make it by Florres anyways). Garaunteed Bute won't face either of these guys. He'll probably face some journeyman no body or at best a supersix wash out at 175.

question for anyone who wants to answer...
if bute stayed at 168, would the winner of the super six need to beat him to be considered best at the weight ?

Great news for the division. Bute was a huge 168 pound fighter anyway. I can't wait for all the possible match ups now.

That's probably why they didn't mention Cloud as at least a remote possibility...

I think the winner of the Super 6 should be regarded as the #1 fighter in the division but he would've had to fight Bute to consolidate that position. You would have two excellent fighters at the top of the division - in a situation like that, the two guys always have to fight to prove who's the man.

There would always be doubts of unfinished business if the winner didn't face him. Eventually that winner will face him but most likely at 175lbs.

Nobody will risk it all just to consolidate anything ... unless there's huge $$$ reward

INTERBOX clearly said they are immediately ready to face Jean Pascal after the Brinkley fight but they understand that Pascal is tied to his committment to giving Dawson a rematch, therefore they'll have to wait til' possibly the end of 2011.

They said it's a 100% certainty that Pascal & Bute will face each other as soon as both can !!

They don't want to protect him, that's the reason they decide to move up instead of facing the Stieglitz, Sartison & Mendy of this world at 168lbs, while waiting for the S6 winner, which will only be crowned in 2012...

They want to test Bute against the best possible, besides old Calslappy & Green, but like I said, it takes 2 to tango and at least, they are ready for any possibility !

If Froch wins the super six he will face Pascal at 175 or retire.
If Dirrell wins the super six he will face Froch/Abraham or just enjoy couple of low risk fights.
If Ward wins it we have the best chance to see the S6 winner vs Bute ...but if Kessler is still around...
If Abraham wins it then we might see a rematch with Dirrell , or a mega figth with Kessler.
    That's what i think

Sounds about right but I do see all those guys up at 175lbs right after the S6 tournament. They're all big guys.

    me too.

and i told anyone who would listen that he would definetly be back...no doubt about it.

but not now...too much time has elapsed...if he wanted to he'd have done it by now.

i dont understand it though...he could have gone out on a huge night at the millenium stadium in front of all his own people.
