There's nothing serious yet, INTERBOX just referred to him as a possibility among others. Calzaghe would apparently consider a comeback but he ain't sure enough to just mention the idea yet...

No Euro source at all...just an interview in French Canada.

I think there are just talks with calzaghe. He won't come back unless he has big financial problems. One thing i can tell for sure about those rumors is that there is truth in them. People close to Bute said for quite a whille that Calzaghe might came back and surprise us. Who knows.

I don't think there is a prayer that Calzaghe comes back, Bute shouldn't waste his time thinking about it.

Coming from someone who enjoys Calzaghe's style, I don't want to see him back. Three years off, and we know he has been partying. Coming back to fight Bute could spell disaster for him, and I NEVER picked against Joe C.

With that being said, every soul on ESB, Calzaghe hater or lover would buy this fight I don't care what anyone says.

saying that, i'd love to be wrong and see calzaghe have one more fight....purely for the reason to go and be there.

Yea I will believe the rumours when I see them come out of Joe's lips.
I would however consider flying across the pond to see this one!

It would be a great fight cause Calzaghe is too proud to be a push over, old or not and party worn or not.

The big question: Does he get to take his personal referee with him?

What are you talking about? Bute's last 3 fights have been officiated by an American. Ant the next one will too.

    Hello!

Would you happen to have a solid link for this by chance? Because I'm both a huge Bute fan and Pascal fan and not just because they are my countrymen. I've watched Lucian since he broke onto the seen and if if this is true it's a total let down. As much as I hate to say it, it's starting to look like he's being Chavez'd. Butes promoter Interbox has always been at odds with Yvon Michel, Pascals promoter in the battle of Quebec. Bute was called out by Pascal shortly after the fight and was flatley refused by Butes trainer Larouche because they were staying at 168. As if they did not know how long the S6 was going to last..... Seems to me Bute is going to have an incredible opportunity as this tourney starts to complete and not just by fighting the winner and all of a sudden he can't wait. Something stinks.

Well, not so long ago it looked like Showtime was going to hold the semifinals right now and skip stage 3. So that doesn't stink that much.:barf

BTW, as a Quebecer, I have no interest in seeing a Pascal-Bute fight RIGHT NOW, I would rather wait till they are both better known (something like two years, when Bute will have beaten the **** out of the Slut of God and Pascal will have cleaned up his division...).:bbb

He shouldnt have even wasted his time fight Brinkley if he was just gonna move up to 175.

Ward will refuse to fight in the tournament if Bute were allowed to compete.

I agree for the most part. Interbox knows where their supper hangs. Pascal is busy with Hop and after that baring no problems will probably take some time off. Then Dawson may execute his rematch clause which would push such a fight close to 2012 anyway. That still gives Lucian time to entertain the tourney champ. Not sure about these rumours of Green and Calzaghe. They seem iffy to me and what an ugly fight a Calzaghe one would be style wise. Cal coming out out of retirement and fighting what would be a better version of himself at this point. Big money though but I can't find anything solid on this speculation. Can't see Green shrinking down to 175 either. Bute is wise to wait things out. After his mandatory with Brinkley he will have an optional 90 or 110 days afterward. Test the waters at 175.
