Lucian Bute Signing 3 fight deal with SHOWTIME

it shows the worth in investing in a division. Bute would not be going near showtime if they didnt have all the best supermids locked down to contracts.

 

He wouldn't have entered the Super 6 trust me. The deal is massive though. $1million to Pascal for the Dawson fight was the biggest every fee paid to a Canadian fighter fighting in Canada. So he has doubled that just on US TV.

Hopefully the deal says the 3rd fight is agaisnt the Super 6 winner in a neutral venue.

How about he fights Steilgritz in a WBO unification in March (simular time to Super Six semi)

Then fight his IBF % WBO mandatory which will be Jean Paul Mendy in July (simular time to the final)

Then in December he fights the winner (Andre Ward) which will be a mega mega fight.

 

Sod the neutral venue lark, it may have been part of the contracts for the Super 6 but after the tournament its "business as usual" in boxing and most of the time thats either a fighters home country or a Vegas casino.

 

Fair enough but Ward, Froch, Abraham and Bute all do 10,000 in there home towns. So it needs to be neutral.

 

It doesn't "need" to be neutral at all, like most fights it'll go where the money is. Home crowds make money and make atmosphere (TV companies like them!).

Outside of a casino getting it (and none of the fighters are really casino fighters yet) the fight will end up in one of the fighters home countries.

 

I expect he will go in with the loser of Green Johnson first

 

Bute does more than 10,000 in Montreal. Anyway the fight should go where it make more money, I'm sure all parties would agree to that.

Canadian money worth allot less than Euro, Dollar and Pound. Abraham does 20k in Germany.

Abraham vs Froch would make more cash in Berlin or Nottingham but its in Finland.

 

That's cos it's in the Super Six and Froch, Abraham HAVE to fight each other. Like Gaz says, after the Super Six it'll be business as usual. If they can't agree on a venue the fight won't happen.

 

Froch-Abraham is in the Super 6 and thats the ONLY reason its on neutral ground in Finland.

I guarentee its in his contract he has to fight the winner of the super six in his 3rd fight. otherwise why would they being paying him $2million a fight.
