Lucian Bute was, as proven against Carl Froch, not a top coptender. However, he is definetely unfairly underrated now, due to his loss to Carl Froch. He had some fairly okay wins in the past. Glen Johnson, Brian Magee, Librado Andrade, Sakio Bika, etc.

    Underrated?

He's right where he always was: a protected hometown joke.

He's not a hometown joke, he fought some fairly good opponents and beated them? Glen Johnson, Brian Magee, Librado Andrade, Sakio Bika, etc.

    BeatED?

    EDFU?

Come on, Librado Andrade sparkled him and should've had a TKO12 win on his record over Bute. Andrade is a caveman, Glen Johnson fought like he had been paid off, he didn't fight with the same resilience he had in the Froch fight.

    Magee? :rofl
Bika is alright, I'll give him that. Although, Bika struggles with a certain style.

He was a hometown joke, untill he stepped up to the plate and got blown to smithereens by Froch.

Now he knows his rightful place, back to Canada/Romania fighting C-level opposition and having the referee save him anytime he is in trouble.

I bet Froch himself doesn't rank that win very high.

He is the definition of overrated.

If you never gone to Asia or Africa you're a hometown fighter plain and simple.

Interviewer: What makes a great fighter Floyd?
Floyd: Heart, a strong chin and the right gameplan.

    Bute showed neither.

Kessler(although he lost it was very very close and could've gone either way),Pascal,Dirrell,Taylor and even Johnson fought with all those attributes.

Yeah, Librado should have gotten a win by KO there, but you know what, he DIDN'T, even though he SHOULD, but what's HAPPENED is already HAPPENED, and what's HAPPENED can't be CHANGED.

Librado Andrade fought a long match against Kessler. Glen Johnson just lost to Bute, come on... Magee is good enough, he may have a match against Mikkel Kessler coming. And yeah, you should give him that for Bika, which you did, which is okay, but besides that, you're wrong, and Bute is just UNDERRATED because of his BRUTAL DEFEAT because you fail to see his IMPRESSIVE ACCOPLISHMENTS. Just because he's not the BEST doesn't mean he isn't GOOD. Think think think think.

    I thought Froch beat Kessler.

I think Kessler would blow your heros jelly jaw to smithereens so bad that the cheap seat folks could go home with part of Butes mandible as TROPHY.

Exactly. I hate to kick a guy when he's down, but Froch almost had a look on his face as if to say "Is this it, seriously?"

Nothing impressive about it, his reign between 2007-2012 was the worst in boxing history for that length. Even Sven Ottke had a better reign.
