Lucian Bute vs. Brian Magee RBR (w/ Cotto-Mayorga replay; no undercard)

Round 8

Magee throws a right hook to the body, not backing up at all. Magee flurries his way forward into a clinch. Bute rolls side to side in his southpaw Philly shell. Bute throws some big left hands from behind the hip, trying to catch Magee with something fast and unseen. Magee is just battling his way forward, throwing lots of right jabs and short lefts before Bute curls his upper body in and hops away or catches him into a clinch. Magee jabs with him, Magee's straight and Bute's sort of flicked up backhanded from his low stance. Magee is sidestepping some of Bute's attempted body shots now. Low blow by Bute, well below the line. HARD left uppercuts scoring to the body by Bute!! Magee keeps coming!!!

 

"Mikkel, are you still impressed with Bute and do you still want to fight him?"

(nervous laughter)

Round 9

Bute is firing his right jab and catching Magee in the nose with it. Magee now starts taking quick left leads to the face. Magee is holding his hands up high and slicing down at Bute but not connecting. They come together and Magee lands a loud right hook to the body. Bute follows but doesn't punch. Magee keeps his hands up and slides his feet across the canvas to keep pace with Bute. Magee comes forward with a tomahawk attack with both fists. Bute jabs him in the face and lands a left to the body.
