This is a well chosen opposition for Frampton's development, but terrible choice to make him look good on a big international bill.
Round 7 Hirales is jumping inside and being cautioned off by feints from Frampton as he hunkers down low. In and out jumps Hirales. Frampton just remains outside. Lunging jab and right by Hirales. Counter hook by Frampton on the backfoot. Wild hook by Hirales, and Frampton uses some Hamedian reed-in-the-wind defense with his hands down and neck stiff. Nice right hand by Frampton as he threads past a Hirales combo and gets drawn into an exchange, landing better. Hirales is trying to force the fight and it's backfiring on him as Frampton simply has twice as much speed. A few jabs from too far outside by Hirales. Frampton moves in and clubs him in a clinch. 10-9 Frampton 69-64 Frampton
These have to be the longest 7 rounds I've ever seen. Disappointing performance from Frampton. So far failed to take advantage of the event he's been put in.
No, but it's no excusing these tactics. Frampton is getting near the borderline of Dirrell vs. Stevens territory here...only saving it with a few moments of aggression here and there...
