Lucian Bute vs. Edison Miranda

"Now it appears like". ****, it has been a long day and I am still stuck at work.

 

You think Pav has a chance to beat Bute who is getting better with each fight? It will be interesting. I really want to see how Pav fairs with Martinez with all that movement.

 

He will shock a lot more than a few people if he pulls out the win. Hell, I say he is gonna shock about 86.5% of fans!

I got a funny feeling he will pull this off though.
Im not confident like I was in Pavlik and Abraham II (and we all know what happened there). I just think it is Miranda's time.

When is the last time one of these things worked out for you?

 

I remember Boo saying a while back that Kelly should fight Bute at the time because he was improving with each fight.

 

So what is the word from the Pavlik area? Last I heard Lou and Bob were about $200,000 apart from closing the deal. Anything new you've heard? Kinda funny we both have our boys showcasing a title fight on HBO the same night but in different arenas. Id love to see both of them win. You know the talk would start happening..... :good

 

My sources haven't said squat in the past week. You know I'd love to see Edison snag a title.

 

I'm sure I don't need to tell you, but people are writing Miranda off far too early (am I the only one who noticed the guy had a 1st round KO last time out?). I think he just simply got caught by Abraham, and went up against a very underrated fighter (especially at the time) who was bad for him stylistically in Andre Ward. Look how celebrated Mikkel Kessler is. Well, Miranda looked much better against Ward than Kessler did, from what I saw anyway (hell, I attended both fights in person). Aside from his devastating power, Miranda is still a good boxer. He's not slow. He's also in tremendous shape and can go 12 solid rounds.

Bute, on the other hand, doesn't impress me at all, and I just simply don't see anything to get excited about. And when the hell is he going to step foot outside of Canada? Andrade is a garbage fighter...very easy to look good against. I don't see Bute being able to hurt Miranda whatsoever. On the flip side, I don't see Bute being able to handle Miranda's power whatsoever. Miranda by KO. We all know damn good and well he's not getting the decision, whether he earns it or not.

 

Bute by knockout.

 

It's a tall order, but i hope pantera pulls off the upset.

I dont think Andrade is garbage, but I see what you are getting at. Against a skilled boxer that can stay away from his pressure, he can look like crap. Nothing is impressive about a guy that comes at you but continuously get his head cracked and cant catch the quicker, slicker fighter (Kessler/Bute).

I think just a little tweak from JG is enough to give Miranda what he needs to get over the hump. Bute scares me, but not as much as Ward did for some reason.

Miranda is highly underrated for sure. I cant wait to see what the Vegas odds are on this fight.
