    Jermain Taylor was doing very similar things to the level of opposition Bute's facing and Pavlik took his power well enough. I think he can handle Bute's power.

    It was a short powerful shot. Wasn't a lot of flash to the punch, just more so the way Mendy went face down without putting his hands out or anything.:yep

    Is it me,or did that shot seem to land on the neck ? I've seen the replay from 3 angles,and that punch was below the ear.

    This. Their language is Finn-Ugric but ethnically they're not related to anyone really. Magyars were the last tribe to arrive in Europe that have a modern Nation (in around 1000 AD) and came somewhere from asia, probably central asia/siberia, as did most Europeans originally.

    You missed a GREAT card.

    Cote-Navarrete was decent despite the latter's spoiling.

    Bogdan Dinu and Viorel Simion (AKA the "Sun Back Boys") were VERY impressive in dispatching their opponents.

    ...and then that absolute destruction by Bute.

    Of course everyone predicted it. Still, Mendy did OK while he lasted which is more than anyone had given him a chance of doing. He even ate some uppercuts (and stood up to them) before that left cross KO.

    You're right about Vargas over Estrada being a great KO, but this was up there with it for sheer visual shock value.

    I think he clipped that bottom of the jaw back near the ear. Due to Mendy's bending low the shot came from underneath like.
