    Don't get upset Laffie. :yep

I'm not insulting your family just telling it like it is. Ward has been facing better comp - consistently and recently. Bute has been facing bums. That level of comp is not going to be of any help when he finds Ward across the ring.

And Ward didn't KO Kessler, even with his head. What do you mean?
When you take a beating and finish the fight on your 2 feet, that means that your opponent has no power.

Ward has faced ONE better opponent. All the rest of his resume is stronger than Ward. By far.
Brinkley is at the same level as Green.

no, he only stopped him once, Brinkley was up at 9

not that impressed. I mean, its nice he was the first to stop Brinkley but I mean, it is Brinkley. I'm ready for some more meaningful Bute bouts, **** the Super Six

Brinkley had been down twice before.
The counts were very long, especially the first one. Brinkley was down about 18 seconds. That's a long count.

Dude, think about it this way, Bute knew it WAS Brinkley. They knew they were stopping him. Do you think he would be the same against a... lets say, Abraham???? Check all his latest fights, his coach is a master at finding the right strategy :bbb:rasta

Joey Spina stopped Brinkley to the body four years ago. Brinkley cannot handle body shots and if Bute had just gone after him there from the jump it would have been over quickly. Not the best performance from Bute though a strong finish, and good heart from Brinkley.

What a couragous fighter Brinkley is!:happy

I think Bute started much more slowly then usually (maybe one of the reason for this is that he had only 11 rounds of boxing since march 2009 and was looking for the big knockout punch rather than doing his thing and outbox his opponent...).:nono

Anyways, when he decided to step it up, he totally anihilated Brinkley, and if he hadn't been saved by the bell twice, it could have ended much faster.:deal:good

Okay, I see now. You really love Bute so much you want to take an absurd line of reasoning.

How many examples in fight history would we need to bring up to poke holes in that?

Look, Kessler didn't finish. He looked like a crash test dummy. He did finish against Froch (and again looked like a crash test dummy). Based upon that, Froch (and Kessler) must have no power either. By extension, any fighter that lost a decision but wasn't stopped must be definitive proof that the victor had no power.

    :good

Good stuff. Give the Bute poster a little smooch and go to sleep now. It was a stoppage of Jesse Brinkley tonight. Quality win.

Let's both just hope he finds his way to a competitive opponent before his mid-30s.

    Just saw this ..

"Brinkley is at the same level as Green."

Kid, you have to be a horrible non-athlete to say that. If you believe (honestly believe) that Jesse Brinkley is on the same level as Green you are out of your mind. Get off the net and into the gym. You can't discern what you are watching.
