You're right on both points. Zuniga always think he's still in it. People who watched the fight were not. You're right again on the kd against Pavlik but in Zuniga's perspective, it's a real knock down and he's proud of it.
Cooool. I think it's no easy win for either fighter, that's for damned sure. I would take Pav on "principalities ", and good post up there Tays001.:yep
Flash, balance, whatever...it was a REAL KD and KP slid 4 feet on his ass. Although he was up before the ref could say "1", Zuniga has every right to be proud of it.:yep
Mike Pavlik Sr. said also in an old interview, that after they saw that Pav could beat Zuniga was the "first" time they really thought they could do this full time and make a living at boxing, perhaps even get into the upper levels. Pretty cool stuff. I believe Pav had a job mowing grass and land scaping, **** like that before they realized: Hey, you Kelly can do this.
can't believe so many people think Pavlik would win.....specially after seeing how he's perfromed over 160lbs...but it's ight, makes me wanna actually see this fight now
The younger you learn a sport, the more you can develop your skills. Pavlik won't change much from now on. I don't see much difference in him from 2 years ago.
Two years ago would take us back to the Zertuche fight. That kid would not score a UD over Jermain Taylor. Fast forward to Rubio, and we're starting to see more punch variety. Ya, it was Rubio, so it's not a great measuring stick, but Kelly was flat ****ing deadlly with that long left hook; leading with it, throwing double to the head and one to the body, or one to the body and double to the head. In the 6th KP stood in front of Rubio with his hands at chest height and made him miss repeatedly with nothing but upper body movement. Pav is growing as a fighter, but he seems to be keeping it all within the parameters of his very basic stalker style. On the other hand, I think anyone around the weight who wants to beat Bute needs to either do it now, or wait for him to get old. That kid is improving fast.
Pavlik needs time to set his feet before attacking and a mover like bute would be all wrong for him... He'd get outboxed.. Bute would potshot him to a decision.
...I don't know...Kessler would be the clear favourite against Bute...Dawson would be favourite too...Andrade has a shot too...then there's Taylor, for example...all of these should improve too, with time, no?:think
Kessler has a bad back, Taylor is 30 years old, Andrade (God Bless 'im) is what he is. Dawson is an open question. I had Johnson beating him. When it comes to long term ownership of 168, Bute probably has the best shot.
