What do you think... Bute on paper seems so much bigger... just as quick IMO. Would Martinez fare well? I personally think his Max is 160... The Super middle weights will kill him.. that's just IMO.
Martinez is much quicker than Bute. Dunno what's with this trend to put Martinez speed wise on par with Ward/Bute. Doesn't make sense to me, Martinez was much faster than PW, who himself is probably as fast as Bute. Bute at 165 would probably mean severely weight drained Bute. I'd take Martinez over that Bute. At 168, I'd say Bute has the better chance, but both can win, Bute by KO or Martinez by UD.
I'm picking Martinez in this one. Bute is bigger, but I don't think he will have much success imposing his height/size. It's not his style. MaGee is a decent south-paw, and his stance gave Bute fits, Martinez is not only a much better fighter in general, but he's much better at maximizing his south-paw advantages, and he has destroyed every other south-paw he has faced. He seems to do better against south-paws than orthodox fighters. The opposite is true of Bute (and almost everyone else). I think Martinez is more skilled, smarter, more experianced, carries a stylistic advantage and is much quicker than Bute, all of which should be able to make up for the size disadvantage.
Hopefully it happens at 168 if Martinez wants to go down in bigger lists other then P4P try to make ATG lists by campaigning at 168... and knocking down any 154-160 pounders.
