After watching this video I started to think that it could be great idea. Martinez can make history by becoming the first man to hold belts at 154, 160 and 168 lbs at the same time. It's low risk/high reward situation for him because even if he lose people would say that super middleweight is simply not his division and he can go back and defend his belts at 160 or 154. For Bute it's also good choice because until Super Six ends he doesn't have many worthy opponents at 168. The only fight that can be really interesting is Bute-Dawson(I don't think Hopkins will fight Bute and Pavlik isn't ready after last fight).
What do you think about that fight?:think

Not sure it will b low risk to his health lol. I think that may be a step too far, but I would pay to see it.

That guy cracks me up. You could tell he was positively frothing at the mouth after his Martinez-Pavlik prediction, making a post-vid about it

S M is much to small he wouldn't be able to carry the weight.

Bute would have absolutely nothing to gain from trying to beat a true 154lbs boxer... He gets practically no props for that...

Sergio is already small to begin with at 160 lbs and this is the champ we're talking about. Bute will beat Martinez soundly at 168 lbs.

Yes, SM has nothing to lose, but Bute sure does.

First, don't get to excited about that guy picking Martinez over Pavlik. He also said Mora over Pavlik was a good bet.

Second, If Martinez fought Bute, about 3 rounds in Sergio's team would have to start looking for his head, and it would take them about a week to find all the parts.

I doubt that...Martinez is fast as hell...I think it would be a competitive fight but ur right, there is no point for Bute to take it...Hopkins needs to fight Bute or the super 6 winner.

Bute would send him to the morgue. If there's one fighter from 154-168 that can exploit Martinez dire lack of fundmentals, it's Bute, and Martinez certainly doesn't have Andrade's chin. Martinez would jump in, Bute would counter him into obvlivion. Bute KO early.

I don't know why this fight would be particularly appealing anyway. Martinez isn't a MW let alone a SMW, and both guys have other things to do.

bute would whoop the **** outa martinez

williams may win in a rematch also... thats the fight that needs to happen but I don't think dibella wants that

I think martinez's future may look something like this

    pavlik>margarito>(hope cintron wins)>dzinzurik

he should fight jermain taylor @ 160.... after he smashed pavlik again... get another name on the resuem
