No, he didn't, Hatton gave Mayweather problems in the early rounds and forced the fight to be fought at his pace, Ward is also not as good as Mayweather

Froch spent the night catching punches with his face, he didn't get knocked out due to him having an iron chin and Ward being relatively powerless.

Hatton has superior footspeed, upperbody movement, bodywork etc

Froch would not be much without his grit and chin, something Ricky had for most of his career also

Dude if you are going to say stupid things then i recommend you go and do your research, Im a neutral fan of both these guys but come one. Look at frochs last 6 fights all world class and no one has come close to knockng him out. Bute has fought no one. He is a hype job. Bute might win but id put my money on froch but as for Bute KO not going to happen

Definitely not. Kessler realized the fight was too close when boxing (I still had him winning early), so he decided to push it a bit more. Bute wouldn't need to to that (he's much quicker than Kessler when it comes to transition from defence to offense) and if he did, he would not fare as well as Kessler I suspect. Even though Bute's chin looks to be at least decent, it's not nearly as good as Kessler's. Then we have the mentality of Bute, which is equally important. It's not his style to respond to brawling and DEFINITELY not to start one himself like Kessler invited to.

When Froch and, to an extent, Kessler tries to respond immediately, Bute usually prefers to slide away unless he hasn't got a great counter opportunity. He wouldn't want a repeat of Andrade 1. Thta's the only fight he's not been able to control the pace as I see it, and part of that was because I belivie he really wanted to put a statement by stopping the man Kessler could not. Sickness or not (always the excuse...); Bute let Andrade get to close, tire him in clinches and punched back himself too much. Now I know that his inside game has got much better since that (he has actually some sneaky hard shots now) but it's still not where he'll want to fight. Froch, on the other hand would like to - at least wouldn't mind. Vs Ward it didn't work because is EXTREMELY strong and very skillful on the inside. Bute isn't as strong so just because Froch failed against Ward doesn't mean he will against Bute.

Against Bika and Johnson, Bute controlled the pace admirably. High quality fighter's like Dawson, Mack (well...), Froch, Calzaghe (even thogh he himself decided to brawl) and Ward didn't control the fights against those two cagey fighters as well as Bute. One reason is power - he hurt Bika as well with a body shot in the middle rounds - but another is a measured pace. The normally high pressure, high pace fighters were kept at an arms length with slower pace than usual and that's no coincidence that it happened against Bute. He'll want to keep that pace against Froch.

Sure, he might put on careful pressure to provoke counters (in a way similar to Mayweather against Mosley, JMM and Ortiz) like he did against Johnson, Zuniga and Miranda, but respond to brawl attemps... No. Froch's stamina isn't exactly stellar either, but I suspect that grinding Bute down and stop him in the later rounds is what he'd fancy. Bute's team will naturally anticipate this and advise Bute to stay collected and wait for the opportunities which will inevitably present themselves.

Nice post. I agree that Bute's bread and butter is his counters, so he won't go toe to toe. Not his style. He sets up traps and if his opponent fall into one: :bbb. If not, he controls the pace, like against Johnson. What would happen if he can't control the pace? It happened once against Andrade and Bute was not as confident as usual. Can Froch, with his awkward style, dismantle Bute's machine? That is one of the most important question about this fight.

I agree to a large extent. Froch is and always will be easy to hit, and his offensive does consist in large part of volume brawling, so to speak.

I am not sure if Bute stops him, but I do think he'll slap the **** out of him.

Nevertheless I am little less sure about your Froch-Hatton comparison. Hatton, unlike Froch, had a pretty quick feet and, though not defensive wizard, was not as easily hit.

Not even close. Froch is 10 times the fighter Hatton ever was.

I classify Hatton a step below Gatti. They were both famous but typically failed at the elite level. Gatti gets the nod over Hatton since he was always exciting and Hatton was typically a stinker to watch.
