Well for the record I rate Bute ahead of Kessler for the time being for reasons I've stated before about Kesslers mental capacity after being beaten combined with a lull in activity...I'll be watching to see how well he comes back which may change my view...on that note any word on when Kess will return??

 

That's too much ****ing time mate...Now I'm really baffeled on how we can begin to carry Kessler in our arms :huh
The guys head hit the shithouse during that fight with Joe combine that with about 8 months of inactivity.....and were acting like he's going to dominate the world? Beat Taylor? Beat Pavlik?

Well it is far too much time off. But I still believe Kessler to be the top dog at 168 now that Joe has left.


Kessler is the most gifted fighter at 168 although Bute could spell trouble in the near future.

Remember; Calzaghe said that he had to use his plan B against Kessler - Kessler couldnt adapt to this, change his plan and make it a fight.

Joe outsmarted Kessler and I think this shows that Kessler needs experience fighting the big fights against very good opponents. Kessler has fought 39 times - 34 or so of these are against nobodys.

But Kessler will come back as a better fighter after this defeat. As a more adaptive and seasoned fighter. The good sound fundamentals that he has will be intact.

The 8 months wont do much. He has always been a very inactive fighter - which is a shame!
Also - as stated by Decebal - he is a risk/reward nightmare.

Plus he has a very shitty management.

Pavlik deserves some credit. He fought Taylor at 166 which was Taylor's wish. Pavlik had to fight with biased judges and as always the biased Harold Ledermann, who had Quintana losing to Williams. Pavlik landed many more blows, yet was criticized, yes, criticized for knocking Taylor's head back like a punching bag. Pavlik should have gone ahead and stopped Taylor, but did not turn it up quite enough, although almost. Pavlik did not run out of gas, he trained hard. I think he should stay within his weight division for a while and enjoy the big wins. I appreciate someone like him, he can't "always" win by knockout.

 

Bute would stop Pavlik. Pavlik can't handle any good defensive fighters and definitely can't handle a mover with solid skills and good power at SMW. If Taylor could hurt Pavlik and a few MW's could stun/drop him, Bute (who hits more than twice as hard as Pavlik) would crack his chin after punishing him for 6-10 rounds. Berrio is a much bigger puncher than Pavlik at 168 and Bute took his shots, so Pavlik's power is not a real factor in the fight and wouldn't matter much anyways because of his predictable, sloppy offense.

However, Taylor would stop Bute. His quick, accurate jab would land effortlessly and Bute wouldn't be able to handle his high pace attack for 12 rounds. They don't call him Bad Intentions for nothing. One big signature Taylor right hand and the night is over for the young Romanian.
