Bute beat three americans in US.Check boxrec.

Bute`s the longest time belt keeper in SMW.

He`s un undefeated champion, not a pretender.Put your right glasses and check the rankings. If you still don`t see do yourself a favor and CHECK UN EYE SPECIALIST.

Bute is one of the hardest boxers to rate, because he never fought a top fighter and he ain't happy boxing away... I wouldn't say he is the best, but a place around 3-6 in smw.. Hope to see more of him in fights where he is pushed more than he is used to..

In a year we have a winner in the super 6, he will most likely defend his titles agaist Bute... But it will not be a fight to answer all questions about Bute... If he loses, where does he then belong and if he wins?, will he then be the best? - hard to say - because then he will have met only ONE true top fighter... and if that's a win to ensure him as the best in smw i would be sad...

There are two main qualifications that makes Bute skillful in boxing. The first is the ability to think in the ring, and the second is his sense of timing and distance. He can make you do things you don’t want to do. If you are a counterpuncher he can make you lead. If you are aggressive he makes you back up. He knows where to hit you. He knows all the vital spots the solar plexus(Zuniga),the rib cage(Andrade) ,chin(Miranda) and the liver(Donny McCrary , Donnell Wiggins). He knows all the spots. There is an old saying in boxing, a great boxer plays chess and the average boxer plays checkers. The ability to outthink an opponent is a timeless skill and the greatest fighters have this ability. He is a great boxer that plans his moves by setting up his opponent. He takes advantage of tactical errors with pinpoint sharp-shooting, and uses combinations when his opponent is on the defensive. He positions himself where he makes his opponent think he is just out of range and catches him coming into his perfectly timed counterpunches. He has speed and power in those counterpunches. The most vicious weapon he posses is the left uppercut to the body&chin.

hmm... perhaps you're right, but it isn't the most fearred/skilled fighters you bring to the table. Zuniga aint near top class, Andrade is good, i give you that, but it just don't give anyone stardom to beat a good (not great) fighter again, Miranda is fearless regarding opposition, and it gave him his share of losses and a minimum of great victories. Will not even use space on the rest... I want to like Bute, but he has to do much more to make me a big fan...

To the folks who say he has fought outside the Bell centre, it's five years ago and the people he met have not risen to the stars since... To use this as arguments, well - I will give calzaghe more respect for fighting Mario Veit in germany, which isn't a lot..

One of the things that impresses me about Bute is the way he wins a lot of his fights.

Zuniga was never a world beater, but he did fight 4 world champs in 3 divisions. He always gave a good account of himself, and briefly held the IBO title at 168. (He vacated for a title eliminator to fight AA at 160, but Sauerland ****ed him out of his shot.) Bute straight up handed Zuniga his ass. No one else ever did that to Zuniga.

Andrade was about as close to un-knock-out-able as fighters get. Bute took him out in 4 rounds, and made it look easy.

Agreed. He looks like the full package, but, as you say, I'd like to see him vs elite competition before I really put the stamp on in him.

this is about all that can be said about him at the moment. i think the number 1 ranking at super middle he gets from some sources was only warranted briefly once kessler lost to ward. then an argument could be made. at this point though, beating miranda and andrade doesn't do it for me

You're right, i dunno how to explain, but i will try.. Kessler have not been the same since his loss to Calzaghe, a boxer first loss take away a magic 0, it does somehow show that you are invincible, coz you've never lost before.

Kessler took away Andrades 0, Bute later made it to a 2...

I think mentally it means a lot for a fighter, the more losses he gains.. in particular the first loss to Bute must have mentally ruined Andrade, so close to become world champion.... but then some (in my eyes) jack ass of a ref f..... it up

Bute draws in Montreal,Quebec-period.He is not a draw in the rest of Canada.Anyone who claims otherwise is full of ****.His fights are not even mentioned in Toronto papers and perhaps he gets a one line result in the back pages of the newspapers outside Quebec.:deal

The importance of the "0" is quite overrated. It often only shows you haven't met your match yet or enough elite competition.

Many greats from the past have come back with their greatest wins once beaten, but while they were still in some sort prime physical shape.

Guys that need to hold on to an "0" are mentally weak.

I give you right to some extent... if you have a "0" you have indeed not been overmatched, coz then you wouldn't have the "0"...

And many from the past have made huge and great come backs, but for a boxer like Andrade who never was on top of anything, never was a champion, it must hurt a bit to loose the "0" before you even reached the top...

and like i said i'm having a hard time to explain my self... - but lets say Andrade first defeat was from Butes KO- then it would be hell of a lot more impressive!!!
