Rodriguez was just a random stay busy opponent for Holmes. Sultan is one of Wlads best challengers, and one of my favourite fighters of the era. Tyson was a huge fan of him (quite a weird friendship, but they've been seen at dinners together and he was also meant to be a part of Iggys corner for the Wlad fight but had passport issues), and Holyfield was quite impressed with him. Actually, it was Tyson, Ibragimov and Bob Foster. They were spotted at a restaurant after going hiking. Anyone wanna imagine what that looked like? haha
Ibragimov was no doubt VERY underrated. I know people love to bring up the Austin fight... but every boxer has off nights. Other than the Austin fight he had an impressive pro run.
Yeah, he was also 230+ for the Austin fight which was a terrible weight for him. On his best night he was a very good fighter.
My favorite fight of his was the Whitaker fight. Lol Man he just opened up from the get go and didn't stop! The pre-fight brawl was a trip too. Lol
