    Well, 2 millions in purse by Showtime is mmore than what they gave for a first stage fight in the super 6, which was 1 million). I think Interbox offered them around 2 millions, letting Kessler have theEuropean TV rights. I think the time zone difference makes that less valuable for Kessler than if he fights Stieglitz in Germany.

    Like Badlok said, maybe Kessler accepted to fight for less money against Ward because it was a tournament. He may ask more now he's not in it.

    I made a try in calculating the economics of the fight in another thread, and I although I definetely do not know all the details, it made me believe that it was possible to give Kessler 4M and Bute 3M.

    So you must reckon Kessler would command something in the vicinity of 4M for facing a willing Stieglitz in Germany. I said it before Kessler doesn't need Bute but if Sauerland wanted the fight it would have been a great one;
    Sauerland didn't want the fight : no StJuste , no counter-offer; money were irrevelant and the prove will be the check Kessler will receive after the purseoffer for Stieglitz-Kessler.

    It would be Bute better purse but he should get the more of it since he got the belt!

    Stieglitz is a lesser risk than Bute, so no way Kessler is getting 4M for that fight.

    Besides the purseoffer, if the fight goes to that point, will not reveal Kessler's purse. It will reveal how much Stieglitz will get, which will be 75% of the purseoffer, but Kessler will get more than 25% as Sauerland will pay him much more. How can that be done you might ask.

    Well Sauerland will bid just enough to ensure he wins, but they fight will generate more money than what is in the bid and Kessler will get a share of that. Perhaps a share of the PPV if the fight will be televised as such in Denmark.

    we don't know what Interbox offered but it's very probable besides a fixed number, the whole PPV in Denmark, maybe Europe; we'll see how much gets Pavlik for fighting in Canada and make some comparison after;
    Sauerland already admitted the fight might go to Germany ; SES has the upper hand outside the ring, they have the WBO champion so there is a big risk for Kessler if he fights in Germany; what if somehow it goes to a decision?

  8. does this really surprise anyone?

    Interbox V.P. confirmed over the weekend they never got a counter offer from Sauerland, therefore they figured that from the time Sauerland pursued Bouadla and the WBO route...they had already planned not to face Bute in the fall.

    Saurland comfirmed today, that Interbox offer of a fight in Canada was to low. Instead Saurland offered Bute a fight in Denmark, but Interbox was not interested fighting outside of canada.

    Then it's a matter of he says and they say, etc. If Sauerland is / was really interested, they would have an offer on the table. What's the exact counter offer ? It was never given.....

    Interbox has specifically said that they were never contacted again, ever since they deposited their initial offer....therefore no negociations from that point on from the Kessler team.

    Like the first offer was never made public. But yeah it is all talk at the moment. To me it seems that none of the parties are ready to make this fight away from home at the moment. And I can understand that!
