Belts don't matter and Showtime should be calling the shots

I sincerely doubt this is Bute's personal handiwork. ****er looks like he definitely wants to fight. I don't understand how he gets so much hate tbh. Sure, his record is weaker than the current SMW's (which tbh, is an unfair criticism considering he's not in the tournament) but he's a bad ass mother****er and before this was happening, people were singing his praises.

I wouldn't sleep on Bute tbh.

If belts don't matter then why did Kessler decide to go after Steiglitz's belt instead when Bute is the better fight? Please. They have monetary value because of the general public. I think Saurland is lying out his ass on this one just like when he was claiming to negotiate Pavlik/Abraham when Arthur was already committed to the tourney. I really doubt Kessler will make more fighting Steiglitz than he would before 20,000 in Montreal with Showtime money to boot. I also don't see Steiglitz being his next fight unless Saurland pays the org to enforce an immediate defense.

The belt that matters is the ring when it gets awarded to the winner of ward/froch.

Bute aint a world champ, he's a belt holder. They're not important.

Then again, why doesn't Kessler take the more important fight instead of going after Steiglitz's belt if it is unimportant. Spare me the glib platitudes that permeate this board. I don't care how many times people repeat this stupid mantra, it doesn't become fact. If the belts weren't important then these guys wouldn't pay the sanction fees. Props to Floyd for being above it when he refused to pay, but let's face the reality for the rest of these guys.

When are you people going to get it into your thick skulls that Bute is not interested in fighting the best at 168lbs? How many more years of fighting stiffs until the the penny drops?

Let me present some facts to see who wanted the fight more, and who didn't really wanted the fight.

"I'M just taking a break so my eye injury can heal. According to my time table, I'll start sparring in March and I hope to return in May or June. When the Super Six is over, I'll be the first to meet the winner and take back my WBA and WBC titles,"
Kessler advised Bute to step down because his not first in line for that honor.
“Bute needs to take a step back.”

“Once I defend my title against Brian Magee,” said Bute, “I would like to fight Mikkel Kessler”

“I thought I could fight Mikkel Kessler now in March, but he didn’t heal enough in time after his injury for that to happen” said Bute. “So we had to concentrate on other opponents like Brian Magee”

They invited us in Canada to talk about the fight and things are looking really good.
I’m flying to Canada with my promoter Kalle Sauerland to get a closer look at Bute.
The Kessler camp insist Kessler has the right to fight the Super Six Winner no matter what Bute sais.

I am ready to go anywhere, whether it's in New York, Las Vegas, Romania, Bute said. If he dares to fight me, I'll face Mikkel Kessler.

"You might say it's revenge, but I'm not scared of any opponent, and he can't beat me anywhere. Lucian is a very good boxer, who must fight in important matches if he wants to reach the top. I always thought of him as a great boxer. I would not be afraid to come to Montreal. I can fight anywhere. I think I would do very well against Bute," said Kessler.

Kessler vs Stieglitz is The Next Fight Coming For Mikkel

"It would be a great fight for North America. He's been built up in Canada and it means a lot. We have already received an offer from Butes camp, and we will consider it," Sauerland said

Stieglitz is certainly an interesting name for Mikkel. He is in my opinion just as much a boxer as Bute, said Kalle Sauerland.

Right now it seems that Stieglitz is the boxer we are concentrating on. The negotiations will begin Tuesday morning," said Sauerland to Danish television.
