That was no lucky shot!! Danny fainted Roy with 3 left Jabs then Jabbed him really hard to the chest. Roy missed with a counter hook which danny was waiting for and came over the top with a right hand. BOOM Roy just does not have the reflexes to see those exchanges anymore ,, I know it hurts but this is why you never fall in love with fighters.
Green's chance in this fight was to land on Jones and knock him out. Even one of Green's sparring partner's said before the fight that Green would win by knockout and that Jones couldn't take his punches-although what else would the sparring partner say, but he sounded pretty sure. It made me interested a little since Green did look like a puncher, but I thought it was all overrated. Jones should have been more defensive. I do not see how an excuse can be made. If he isn't the fighter he was when he was younger, then he should retire, but this was not a lucky punch. Roy was hit clean and legit and stopped. It was sad to see.
oh na Hopkins would Ko jones i agree but I guess well never know... im a big fan of roy tho... i still think he needs to fight winky wright or some**** go out with a win
It all depends. When Norris was knocked out by Julian Jackson no one really held that against him since Julian did that to many people. If Green knocks out a few guys like this in the future then maybe it will just look like Jones fought a rare puncher.
Julian Jackson, the hardest hitter of all time P4P, and a genuine world class fighter. ....Danny Green. ...Tumbleweed.
No such thing as a lucky punch in professional fighting. Every shot thrown can make the difference, it's why the referee tells you to "protect yourself at all times."
Handpicking ,,, You call Danny green handpicking atsch Green is a big puncher and is naturally bigger then Jones, Green also put a dusting on James Tony in sparring .. Calling Danny Green hand picked you must be crazy!!!
Danny meant that shot, the simple fact that such a shot were to be available is circumstantial, not lucky. Roy appeared leading up to and during RD1 to have contempt for Green. The place where Green landed is a ***** of a spot to be hit, it would of effected his spine and the ensueing onslaught was so brutal that it would be hard for anyone to appear fight worthy defense wise after a bad knock down. Green just went all in, I'd never seen him that fast and focused in his whole career. It would of been beautiful in HBO HD Slow Mo. Roy needs Hopkins, Hopkins needs Roy. Those 2 need to know who would win the 2nd fight.
25 out of 28 of Greens wins have been via KO, the bloke hits damn hard. out of the 3 blokes he didnt KO, one was Sean Sullivan - who has only been KOd 2 times in 22 losses. Another who Green didnt KO was Stipe Dews, who has never been KOd - and whos only other loss was to a big puncher in Paul Briggs, who couldnt KO Dews either. So, obviously Green can punch, I dont think he has to KO blokes in future for ppl to realise the guy can hit, just ask Roy!
ok great...but he ko'd roy jones in rd one...end of story...how many bums have gotten lucky vs mayweather jr...this is now 3 vs RJJ....too bad I am sure roy thought he would just clown him for 12 and win but once again he got embarrassed...it is and has been over...hopkins will destroy jones if they do fight and i could care less bout it now
