Ludicrous quote from Glass Jaw James Kirkland.

Just seen it, strange man. I mean somebody that took some big punchers from a noted puncher like Joel Julio, the guy has displayed a chin his entire career. And then he gets stopped like that. I mean I know it's 160 not 154 but come on, for a guy with no power does the extra 6lbs make that much difference? I fear now that his boxing career may not be going as far as he would hope, he won't have much to full back on and might end up in jail again. I hope he doesn't of course.

 

Kirkland was in no position to give an interview after being KTFO'd like that. In a way I felt sorry for him like the SkySports people said having a microphone thrust in your face after you've taken punches like that. Kinda messes your brain up a little.

 

Why didn't he just say "I slipped"?

Agreed. No good saying the guy has no power when he's just put you down 3 times in less than 2 minutes, the last time heavily. If he has no power what's the excuse for getting slapped around like that?
