Luevano v JuanMa

Well Juanma stuggled with Lontchi who gave him movement and in his last fight he was taken into serious deepwaters. He's become very one dimensional and reckless and Luevano is a nice boxer who has decent skillset so he's in for a hard fight.

If Juanma hasn't learned that not everyone falls over when you hit them and that they ain't gonna stand there for you to punch then he's in trouble. Juanma is a lovely compact puncher but seems to struggle when he forces things. I take him to win but he will have to be near his best to dispose of Luevano. I think as much Luevano is nice boxer he doesn't move that much he uses more angles to box and looking back at his fight against Santiago he showed vulnerability and also he got dropped...so Juanma takes it for me.

 

I think the move up in weight will help JuanMa and I see him stopping Luevano in the middle rounds.

 

As you see in this video both are southpaw and Luevano leans over and is open to shots and i feel Juanma will have success. He just needs to box and let things come. I see an early FOTY contender coming if Luevano employs same tactics as against Santiago.

I like Luevano and, contary to what he may look like, he can bang a bit as well. I think he wins this by VERY late stoppage.

 

Luevano punches harder that it first appears. He's a boxer by trade, preferring to win off the jab rather than sit on his shots. But he can unleash when he needs to, as evidenced with his crippling body shots against Nicky Cook.

JuanMa will have learnt his lesson about pacing himself from his last fight. I think it'll be an exciting fight, with good exchanges, but JuanMa's sharper, harder punches eventually telling in the middle rounds.

 

Juanma via stoppage. Sneaky feeling he might get it in the 1st few rounds. His last fight was a great learning curve but that guy had a wickedly steel chin and Juanma was a bit gung ho but I just get the feeling we're gonna see the destructive Juanma again this time

 

You have to remember Nicky Cook was dead at the weight. I spoke to Vinny Mitchell about the fight and he said Cook was in the sauna weeks before the weigh in and that he did know sparring in the build up as he was so weak at the weight he was just getting bashed around. But it was good money and a world title fight, "headline" at the 02 so he had to take it.

But still Luevano is a very good fighter. Durable but I disagree when you say he can outbox Lopez. I also don't think he has the raw power a Mtagwa has to really trouble him. He will frustrate Lopez early and it will be tight for 6 round, but I think Lopez will take over and look very good winning a wide but competative UD.

Then bring on the Gamboa fight, that will be FOTY in 2010 and will be the next big latin american trilogy!!!

 

If I was working for JuanMa I'd keep him away from Gamboa for a long time... Gamboa is on his way, in my most humble opinion, to becoming the best fighter in the World. He would simply out box JuanMa and make him look stupid in the process.

And isn't much good in the first place, of course - that was the other major problem.

Gamboa's chinny, reckless and would get clocked eventually.

 

JuanMa by points. Think Luevano will take a few knockdowns but show grit and generally outbox JuanMa throughout.

 

Luevano is a southpaw which opens him up for that right hook of juanma's and he can be dropped and hurt! I think that Juanma's struggles in his last fight had alot to do with the superhuman effort from mtagwa and being weight drained.

I expect Luevano to be crafty and solid technically but being disposed of around the 5th or 6th
