Luis Alberto Lazarte vs. Ulises Solis II RBR

I could see maybe three of the later rounds at a stretch where Lazarte's dirty tactics disallowed Solis to get much clean work done.

Anything less than 117-111 for Solis will be shameful.

It will probably be a shutout for Lazarte. :roll:

Benjy Esteves Jr. did his best to make the palm greasers happy but short of a trumped up disqualification of Solis there was little more he could do for the cause. :conf

 

Bonus swing bout: Claudio Rosendo Tapia vs. Miguel Caceres - 6 rounds @ super featherweight.

 

Round 1

Tapia stays behind a partial guard, just using his left forearm turned out in front of his face and reaching with some right hands. Caceres spins his right jab around, lassoing it into Tapia's face. Caceres rocks from heel to toe while circling left on the taller man and throwing body shots out of his low-crouched southpaw stance. Tapia keeps reaching with right hands, giving away most of the round on workrate. One right hand seems like it might have hurt Caceres a little.

Round 2

Caceres is circling around, keeping his right arm low and alternately double-jabbing or slapping his way inside. Tapia is trying to line him up with his own jab but is very lazy with it. A few hard right hand leads from Tapia but too few and far between. Caceres comes smashing in with lead lefts to the body and then darting back out low.

Round 3

Caceres is just a tiny southpaw pest, circling to his right and coming in behind big wild shots with his right hand (upper-hooks, haymakers) and then digging sneaky straight lefts to the body while Tapia is distracted. Something looks amiss with Tapia tonight. This is not the same guy who rallied back after an early beating to kayo undefeated Pablo Barboza in an upset on the Corley-Matthysse undercard. Then again, that was in round 4...and we're winding down the 3rd now. :think

Caceres closes out the round with more of his quick-circling harassment, raining haphazard arm punches with the right and digging low lefts.

Round 4

Caceres tosses right upjabs out of his hip-sling and rolls away from Tapia's left counter jabs. Caceres isn't especially fluid or quick on his feet, and doesn't have stellar hand speed or pop, and isn't terribly accurate, and loses on every aspect of the tale of the tape...and yet he's outboxing Tapia pretty regularly here. Tapia just seems sluggish and not into it . Tapia only lands a few right hand leads now and then, that seem heavy but slow. Caceres is blindly slipping punches largely by luck as he moves his head in erratic patterns while ducking inside and letting his hands fly up top.

Round 5

They are broken up thrice in the opening twenty seconds. Caceres throws lots of short punches to Tapia's head on the inside and launches long arcing bombs when they separate. Tapia still looks vaguely disinterested and frustrated. Caceres is landing the right hook to the cheek well, but not hurting Tapia with it. Tapia starts to look energized and circles a bit more rapidly while firing a stiff jab but waited until very late in the round to sharpen up.

 

Yeah. Every time he risked going downstairs it was under threat of being rebuked.

 

WTF? It's over.

Was this a 5-rounder? Did they only air 5 rounds of 6? Is this on tape delay?
