With both Leigh Wood and Ben Davison confirming that Wood will not see 126lbs again, that probably makes Figueroa and Lopez the top two at 126lbs.

Does anybody know what the promotional barriers to this fight being made are?

Does anyone think one or the other wouldn't fancy it for any particular reason?

And the million dollar question, as always, who you got?

Is Brandon still gonna fight Rey Vargas?

Figueroa is the interim WBC holder, while Vargas has the main WBC belt. So Vargas would fight in any unification fight.

Second, Lopez is with Top Rank. Both Figueroa and Vargas are with PBC.

I believe Lopez called out Robeisy Ramirez for a unification fight. Both are with Top Rank. Lopez applied for permission to IBF to fight Ramirez.

Another problem is that Lopez has had two voluntary defenses. The IBF wants Lopez to fight his mandatory.

So I guess there are promotional/sanctioning hurdles!

I just learned Figueroa tweeted that he's facing Vargas.

    So Figueroa or Vagas - WBC (PBC);
    Lopez - Top Rank (IBF)
    Ramirez - Top Rank (WBO)
    Leigh Wood - Matchroom (WBA)

    Edit
[Wood will vacate due to increasing difficulties making weight]
Swapped IBF and WBA for Lopez and Wood

Lopez is better than I thought. Crafty tricky customer. Surprised he beat Joet tbh.

I assume Wood will be vacating soon to move up to 130

That will leave Raymond Ford (Matchroom) fighting Otabek (don't know who he is signed with) for the WBA (you are mistaken, Lopez holds IBF while Wood holds WBA) belt may be? I haven't seen Ford but Otabek seems like he could be trouble for anyone at 126
