Luis Collazo signs with Golden boy promotions

Golden boy promotions have signed former WBA Welterweight Champion Luis Collazo 31-4 (16 KO'S)

Collazo is best known for his spirited and close fought fights against Ricky Hatton and Andre Berto in which many people believe he was unlucky to go away without both decisions going his way.
Collazo also fought future hall of famer "sugar" Shane Mosley in February 2007 Collazo lost by unanimous decision but was unfortunate due to fracturing his left hand in the very early stages of the fight.

Collazo's 2 biggest wins have been against former world champs
Jose Antonio Rivera and Miguel Angel Gonzalez.

Collazo was also a top amateur fighter winning 2 New york golden gloves titles and ended his amateur career with a record of 97-7 including a win against future light middleweight champ Yuri Foreman.

My question is however where does Collazo fit into the welterweight division ?

Of the top 10 who do you think Collazo could beat ?

 

My opinion is that Pacquaio would clearly beat Collazo, Ortiz and Berto would be toss up's and Collazo at his best could beat all of the others.

 

A stepping stone :think he gave your hero all he could handle for 12 rounds and as the rankings have shown theres not alot of depth in the welterweight division at the moment.

 

Maybe, he only weighed in 151 and 152 for his last 2 fights and in all respect they were not the best opponents he's ever faced I would think that with a good sized training camp he could make 147.

 

Probably I wouldn't mind seeing Malignaggi vs Collazo either with them both being roughly the same weight and both being from Brooklyn it could probably make a fair bit of money aswell, I think it's highly unlikely though.
