    Round 7

Vargas again having difficulty walking Collazo down and engaging without getting caught up in a clinch and stalled. Collazo is using a variety of zigzagging footwork patterns to keep Vargas stumbling ever in the wrong direction, and sashaying in to stamp the side of the head with right jabs before circling off again. Collazo able to box well in spurts but mostly relying on negative tactics and Vargas' own single-dimensional nature.

    10-9 Collazo

    67-66 Vargas

    Round 8

Collazo is using a lot of body-feints, making Vargas rush in and then melting out the side-hatch as Vargas' tires screech while hitting the brakes abruptly to stem his momentum. Collazo lightly peppering the pot shot right jab from the flanks of Vargas, never setting his feet or letting him rough him up on the ropes with body shots as he did successfully in the first half. Collazo just moving way too much for Vargas.

    10-9 Collazo

    76-76

Gave Vargas the ninth. 87-84 Collazo on my card, though.

    Round 9

Collazo is starting to set himself and plant the left hand on the chin of Vargas coming in, as both leads and crosses off the wrist-flick set-up right jab. Collazo ducking every time Vargas wades in headhunting clumsily with looping combos, then rolling away to his side. Collazo working some uppercuts on the chest standing in with Vargas while picking off his overhands at point blank, but some of Vargas' deluge is touching both the head and body. Collazo very badly cut by the right eye, it seems. Collazo switches to orthodox and shoots a lead right hand into Vargas' jab to check its progress midway to its target, and then pivots away from him by the ropes.

    10-9 Collazo, close

    86-85 Collazo

Yeah, Collazo might better retire sooner than later imo. He looked good vs. Vazquez, he didn't look that good vs. Perrella and he looks even worse toady although it might be enough for Vargas.
