Cesar Rivas vs. David Wilkins, 6 rounds @ welterweight

 

Round 1

Rivas is looking to hook in on his taller opponent. Wilkins is switching between orthodox and southpaw, giving Rivas different looks on the outside and putting in long jabs and uppercuts on the body. Rivas looks uncomfortable moving backwards, hooking at Wilkins' body while held off by the jab, resembling a small child being kept at arm's length by an older sibling.

Round 2

Wilkins is taking the fight to Rivas, working off the left and right jab, switch hitting at long range. Rivas is getting clipped by 1-2s coming in and taking uppercuts along his backside but is closing the distance and forcing exchanges, where he manages to crack Wilkins on the nose with some hooks. Rivas ducks and weaves in, meeting Wilkins in the middle of the ring and headhunting. Wilkins whips out his long arms at Rivas' head while spacing himself out, then mixes in some body spears.

Round 3

Wilkins is flicking the right jab into Rivas' face and falling in with left uppercuts on the body. Rivas is curling shots into Wilkins' head and grabbing him into rough clinches, shaking him and forcing him up against the ropes. Wilkins' nose is bleeding. The ref has a doctor check it out. He is cleared to go. More in-and-out brawling. The nose of Wilkins gets worse. The ref has it checked out again. Time in again. Wilkins moves in sweeping big uppercuts to the body and lassoing shots across the top of the head with both hands. Rivas ducks and pops jabs and hooks into Wilkins's face, worsening the bloodflow.

Stopped on cuts. TKO3 victory for Cesar Rivas.

He improves to 4-0 (4) but was posed some difficult questions early there by a game David Wilkins, who falls to 3-5-2 (2)

Zayda Mosquera vs. Maria Andrea Miranda, 6x2" @ super bantamweight

 

Both of these gals actually have very high knockout rates.

Zayda "La Bomba" Mosquera is 5-0-1 (4).

Maria Andrea "La Pantera" Miranda is 15-12 (10).

 

The referee, Aida Tejada, is actually IMO more attractive than either combatant.

 

Round 1

Mosquera is working the body as Miranda rows out a left jab and backs up. Miranda dives in and ties up. Mosquera pummels away with a hard combination of hooks under Miranda's boobs. Miranda's breath is taken away with the force of Mosquera's blows and she tries smothering. Mosquera crouches in and fires a straight right on the uterus. Miranda turns away from it and drops her arm to block, exposing the other side into which Mosquera digs a HARD left hook. Miranda crumbles onto the canvas, lying there for three minutes as she receives medical attention. (ice compress on the midriff, etc.)

KO1!!!

 

That was Miranda's 6th loss by KO.

Even if she didn't have a ring name in common with another "Pantera Miranda", you wouldn't need more than seeing her record and that one minute of action to deduce her nationality.
