I think this is being shown on tape delay, as they cut to it abruptly from a short commercial break with no introductory tale of the tape or anything.

Probably just on as filler because of the premature endings thus far.

Omir Rodriguez comes in 1-0, having gotten a KO in his pro debut. Zapata enters 0-2, knocked out twice.

Pretty clear what is supposed to happen.

 

Alberto Mosquera vs. Fidel Monterrosa Munoz II, 8 rounds @ welterweight

 

Round 1

Mosquera is standing in the pocket and hooking with Monterrosa, getting the best of it although the Mexican-based Colombian is getting his licks in. Mosquera's solid base of strength in his lower extremities helps power his right hooks and looping lefts as Monterrosa fires back with 1-2s and left hooks.

Round 2

Mosquera is backhanding his right arm into Monterrosa, ramming down the front door and stepping through with left and right hooks. Monterrosa is meeting his pace willingly and going punch for punch with his 1-2 and left hook, but Mosquera is landing just a bit harder. Equal in speed and neither bothering much with any defense. They slug in a phonebooth, Mosquera closing his arms together to block a few shots but still eating a lot to get his own in.

Round 3

Mosquera is slicing outward with his right arm, backhanding to create space and then hammering with his left hand coming in. Monterrosa slips a jab stepping in past it, and Mosquera grabs him and encircles him in both arms, spinning him onto the ground. Monterrosa is flung in a heap down by the bottom rope. Mosquera is sent to a neutral corner and warned. Monterrosa is given recovery time. He acts like his hip is broken, clutching it and groaning as he sits. Finally he gets up and comes at Mosquera, angry. Flush 1-2 by Monterrosa. Mosquera is doubling right jabs, pushing with them and firing warning-shot lefts into the air in front of Monterrosa. Hooks on the body and rights climbing up the forehead by Monterrosa.

29-28 Mosquera
