Blatant low blow by Mosquera. The ref has no choice but to dock him a point. Monterrosa is in agony and disbelief. He is probably wondering why he hasn't been awarded a DQ already. Mosquera is pushing out with both arms, dipping back to load up a left uppercut but not getting a chance to release it as Monterrosa presses in with straight and looping rights on the face. Monterrosa is a kicked hornets' nest. Monterrosa is laying the pressure on Mosquera, going for a KO this round. Jab and hard chopping right by Monterrosa. Mosquera meets him in the middle of the ring with right hooks and big sweeping lefts. Monterrosa leans backward to avoid the punches and comes right back. LOW BLOW BY MOSQUERA. atsch Monterrosa briefly goes to a knee. Monterrosa lobs 1-2s at Mosquera while leaning back onto the ropes. Mosquera spins Monterrosa and nails him with a rabbit punch. While Monterrosa is complaining to the ref, Mosquera loops a shot onto his face from partway behind him. Monterrosa jabs at the head and slashes down past Mosquera's head with a right. Mosquera whips a left uppercut into Monterrosa's chest standing outside, and Monterossa goes to a knee. He is given a count and unable to beat it.

Mosquera's nickname is "Machine Gun" (Metralleta in Spanish) but a more appropriate one would be "Dirty Bomb". :!:

 

So to date Mosquera still doesn't have a clean, official victory over Monterrosa.

His relatively clean one (testing positive for marijuana is a silly reason to have a result changed to a NC, IMO - it should hardly be considered a "PED"...) was nullified, while this one will stand on his record but is tainted by all the shenanigans that should've resulted in a disqualification...several times over. :!:

You gain no competitive advantage from smoking pot. If anything, it dulls your reaction time and reflexes to a dangerous extent and disadvantages you. (which more than cancels out whatever minor pain-dulling effects might be used to justify it being a banned substance)

Núñez is moving in and pasting his jab onto Arias' face. Arias grabs his arms and wrestles him, putting him into a headlock and pushing him outside. Arias chases him out with the jab. Núñez jabs in again, taking some of Arias' jabs to get inside, and starts to slam down with the right hand. Arias connects with a counter right and they exchange messily on the inside. More wrestling.

10-9 Núñez, close and scrappy.
