Easy work for Corrales, moving, pivoting, twisting, and slipping everything, always in position to boomerang in a counter.

Round 3

Rodríguez is chasing and pumping a 1-1-2 as Corrales backs into the ropes, imitating Mayweather a bit, shoulder up, neck craned, upper body twisting in time with Rodríguez's shots to slip them. Corrales is periodically switching to orthodox as we cuts donuts around Rodríguez, popping him with light jabs and straight flurries.

Rodríguez is starting to brush Corrales' neck with his jab. Corrales is throwing left uppercuts from the hip as he quickens his step and turns Rodríguez, still popping jabs - but not enjoying as much space as he was. Fewer and briefer rests. Rodríguez is coming in, swapping leather, still missing a lot but not everything anymore. Corrales shows off with some flashy quick footwork and lands some more uppercuts with the left.

Rodríguez scores a KD early, but ref doesn't call it. Seemed like a stiff jab that just bowled him over, feet mightn't have been set. Corrales is digging in with uppercuts on the body with both hands as he spins Rodríguez in place. Straight ahead stabs taken by Rodríguez, firing hard without aiming, hoping something will stick. Corrales is sliding his left foot out and dragging the lead, pawing with the jab to keep Rodríguez on the end of it before spiraling in for more uppercut sorties.

Had that call gone Rodríguez's way there would've been the door left ajar for him to just edge this on points if he swept the entire remaining 2nd half clearly. Now he needs a KO.
