I wouldn't be surprised who wins this, but I'd go for Smith as he has the option of a decision win, which I think very unlikely for Firpo.
Smith. Much more talented and skilled. The only thing Firpo brought to the table, even in his own era, was size and strength and Smith was bigger so I just dont see Firpo doing well here.
Well, Smith was quite skilled but he was slow as hell. For all of his weaknesses, I believe that Firpo was more athletic
I dont. Firpo was pretty uncoordinated and not exactly a speed demon either. Hes one of the poorest title challengers in history.
I wouldn't go that far. He was crude as hell but he had nice wins over Brennan, old Willard and Weinert. Most of his record was padded but he wasn't just a hype job.
I've only ever seen the film of Firpo v Dempsey but Firpo looks pretty dreadful in that, despite dropping Jack. Smith at least has fundamentals as well as his big punch so I think he rolls over the Argentinian in 4.
I'd take Bonecrusher pretty comfortably in this one, he's got more than enough ability to keep Firpo from blasting him out early, and after that, he'll manage a fairly comfortable victory, likely by mid round stoppage.
