Froch dusted him in Ireland during sparring.

Garcia is good for 6 rounds then hops out.

I think its better to test young fighters, all this bull**** thats around these days of boxers protecting their record really does my head in, its frustrating and ultimately it stunts the growth of the boxers career. Garcia is good enough to win this fight at this stage of his career, so why not put him in against Campillo..If he wins he'll gain a lot of experience and props, if he loses he'll probably learn even more in that one fight that many fighters will never learn in their whole careers

Froch is world 31 year old world champion with 20 odd fights. Garcia is a 21 year old with 4 or 5 fights. What else do you expect?

Yeah, I've read an article on it I think. Shows how good Garcia is with so little pro experience.

lets wait and see how he fares against Campillo before hailing him as the next big thing.

Campillo is an underrated Spanish based dangerous fighter who doesnt enter the ring to collect an easy paycheck.
For God's sake! He beat Lolenga Mock in his last fight.
Garcia will come up very stiff resistance in his this upcomming fight. In case he his victorious I will take my hat off to him.

I agree Odo, this seems live a dangerous match up. Garcia is only 21 and has time on his side. He does not need to be rushed like Gamboa and Rigondeaux who are in their mid to late 20's.

Hmm, odd that. It certainly doesn't explain how he was sensational in all 8 rounds against Michael Gbenga, with no sign of slowing down and it looking like he could do it for 12 rounds.

He's a class act and while this is a big step up I believe Garcia will rise to the occasion. I can see where Odo is coming from being worried that a relative novice is fighting someone like Campillo, but Garcia is more than a bit special, he'll rise to the occasion and I think he might even be able to stop the Spaniard.

and we can hope that Cork do not beat Tipp in the hurling, that just wouldn't be of benefit to anyone :p

Yeah, I was a bit surprised too of the caliber of the opponent, especially fighting him in Spain, in his backyard. Like I stated in the OP, Campillo has already picked up a few pro titles and good wins, and he also was the national champion back in the amateurs, so Garcia better deliver bigtime, which he should.

Any info on where to watch this one?

Yeah guys is this being covered by Spanish tv? Campillo is very underrated in Europe but i think Luis will do the business in Spain,Alex too.

Thats why I was amazed to learn that he would take on such a dangerous opponent in his 6h pro fight.

As I said I will take my hat off to him if he beats such a decent foe at this early stage of his career.:good
