And if Sugar Ray Leonard stopped Floyd Senior ...then he’d obviously stop Floyd Junior

    I've boxed myself.

But the problem I have with you on this thread is the sweeping statements you make, it just reeks of someone who hasn't watched the fights and so is putting forth vague arguments.

I think he means Benton fights with a similar style to Floyd.

Tbh I think most elite boxers have a better jab than Floyd as he's never implemented it particularly well.

He's much more of a defensive sniper. In fact often he uses his jab to set up a 1-2 and he only tends to do that when he's looking to score points in a close round or when he's sapped the energy from his opponent and is imposing his will.

But for the most part he slips and ducks and comes back with straights and hooks.

Floyd is a great boxer, he is not a great jabber.

Is it the same Rodriguez that Angelo Dundee said " you couldn't hit him with a hand full of rice" ?? If it is it sounds like he was a bit better than basic

I think this sentiment is correct, Floyd did actually have a very very good jab. Long, fast and snappy. But as you say, he didn't use it all too much, but it was awesome when he threw it to the body.

He long a long and quick jab, but that's more physical dimension than technique imo.

He never jabbed as a jab, unless he was in the "I need to walk him down and be a ring General" mind set.
