    Round 10

Román is grinding the uppermost point of his skull into Blanco's sternum and goring him into the ropes, all while pumping away into the body with both hands. Blanco is desperately hacking down with the right hand and even standing in the pocket and turning over left hooks. Blanco doing everything he can to fend Román off, but the little Mexican will not be denied. He continues to chop Blanco down, sawing at him with big hooking salvos on the sides like a lumberjack!

    10-9 Román

    97-93 Román

    Round 11

Román is exploding on Blanco, looking to put him away here and now! Big hooks on the sides! He brings a few up top and Blanco is rattled but able to hold and toss Román away, then peck at him with some jabs and rights falling into another clinch. Blanco using elbows on the inside, dinging them off the face of Román but with no effect, low blow from Blanco unseen by the ref, none of this dirty stuff is doing anything to stem Román's furor. Big hook up top by Román, hurting Blanco and getting the crowd to start a Mickey chant, but the proud Nicaraguan decides to march forward in a show of machismo, and Román does a victory lap, turning his back on Blanco partially to do a full circuit of the ring, doing a Queen's wave to his audience on all sides. Blanco angrily following after him, a bit of role-reversal, now eager to mix it up, his manhood feeling threatened.

    10-9 Román

    107-102 Román

    Round 12

Román is batting the sides of Blanco, letting his fists sail in like huge pendulums. Blanco is tired but still pouncing forth, looking to swallow Román up in a clinch or at least get close enough to lean down on him and keep his arms folded in against his chest where he can work downward jabs and rights at will and feel a little more in control. The ref is working against Blanco, however, breaking up at even the first sign of a clinch. Blanco slugs with Román in the final minute, bad idea, gets rocked a few times, but still throwing his much lighter feathery counters in a very high volume despite the blood pouring down his face, respect to Blanco, kid has definitely got heart.

    10-9 Román

    117-111 Román

Don't quote me on the scores, I didn't actually make them out when the ring announcer read them, but I did afterwards hear the commentators make a remark along the lines of "Dos jueces le dieron ... todas las rondas" (two judges gave ... all of the rounds), and I know at least one card gave Blanco at least one round, from the WBC open scoring earlier. :nusenuse:

Mickey now has a record of 23-2 (19) since 2012, very impressive run in which he was only defeated twice, late in wars against Miguel Berchelt and Takashi Miura. This was his fourteenth non-KO victory (sixty-first overall, including his 47 by stoppage), meaning he now has one more non-KO victory than he does losses.
