6- The old Mexican makes this a scrappy contest up close, whilst the slightly younger Japanese fighter looks to have lost 5 steps from his prime. The fight, if we can call it that, sees both men slap at the air, as if the invisible man has offended both and they are taking him on in a 2-on-1 handicap match. Every so often the invisible man slips the shots, and the two connect with each other, that crafty invisble bugger!

 

I’m not sure if the boxrec is updated or not but I feel like that’s the next bout judging from the NTV schedule which says Nery-Yamanaka starts in around 90 min and is only afforded an hour of programming. Just a guess though not certain at all

 

Iwasa is next, on BS NTV, the same channel showing this **** fest of two old stumbling, shot to pieces former champions in front of a crowd that just wants this garbage to end.

Barring a stoppage, Ao gets the decision...thankfully it's only an 8 rounder...I'm abandoning ship for a bit as this is going to send me to sleep. Awful fight

Lmfao Diaz employed an interesting tactic in the last round, throwing single body punches at the chest and then trying to force Ao’s head down with his hands lmao

 

Your round summaries were exponentially more entertaining than the rounds themselves

 

Ao in tears, swollen left eye, very emotional, and whilst I wish him well...he should retire immediately

 

Sadly for Saulong his entrance music sums up his next 20 or so minutes, Iwasa gonna bash the crap out of him

 

No idea what Iwasa's ring walk was...sounds recognisable but....not at the same time...

 

Saulong down! Saulong down! And it's over...




...is what I'll be saying in a few minutes

 

1-Iwasa jabbing and looking to see what Saulong has early doors, Saulong very cautious, Iwasa getting through with his jab, a left hand from Iwasa rocks Saulong onto his heels, Iwasa pressuring behind his jab and continues looking to land his left hand, left hand to the body by Iwasa, and another up top, and another up top, and another, he's found his range with about 40 seconds of the round left, another left up top, some pitty patter stuff from Saulong late in the round

 

2-Saulong seems to have found some self belief to begin the round and backs Iwasa up, a left from Iwasa connects, and another rocks him backwards, nothing much coming from the challenger now, a left gets through against from the champion, Saulong misses with some wild hooks, another left hand is on point from Iwasa, Saulong presses and back the champion up but delivers little,

Hope Iwasa steps this up a notch soon

 

3-Iwasa pressing a bit more now and using his jab well, nice 1-2 Iwasa, Saulong misses with a looping right, body shot from Saulong gets through, nice left from Iwasa, and another, another one sneaks through, and another lands as a counter, 1-2 Iwasa, Saullong trying to use hib jab, a left backs up the challenger before he bores his head into Iwasa's chest.

 

4-Saulong has some self belief and is coming forward and letting his shots go now, Iwasa is a much less effective fighter up close (as Pumicpic showed), good right hand from Saulong, Iwasa's left's now falling a touch short, a good left late from Iwasa, and another. Close round

 

5-Right from Saulong gets through, Saulong forcing Iwasa backwards again, Iwasa to the body, and again, a left up top from Iwasa, and back to the body, 1-2 up top from Iwasa, left from Iwasa again, Iwasa falls short with a combination, not much coming back at him now, right hand to the body from Iwasa, Iwasa trying to line up the left hand
