I feel bad for Yamanaka.

 

@CST80 as someone who had never watched these two fighters before I thought Nery looked great. Was Yamanka shot? Or what is the reason you think Nery won't fare well at 122.

 

Yamaka is overrated. Guy traded in the pocket with a ped and weight cheat.

Neri didn't make weight he looked good but he looked bigger and stronger in this fight than Yamaka who looks overrated getting caught far too easily.

 

This is better than any RBR post I've ever made!

...also very sad to hear about the state Gamaliel & Takahiro have degenerated into. 6 years ago when they first met both were fringe world class. Now it sounds like they're both old burnouts in desperate need of somebody in their inner circles advising them not to lace up anymore.

I hope Aoh doesn't get a big head over this and start thinking he can pursue a world title. Díaz is pushing 40 and is 3-8-1 since their first meeting! Nice personal accomplishment to 'even the score' on their official records I guess but this shouldn't be a springboard toward anything.

That is a stylish hat - the font indicates an 80's-style heavy metal band and yet it sounds like a pharmaceutical company? If the former, my respect for Iwasa greatly increases but if the latter it dips a bit.

 

If he likes metal he needs to come out to these guys.

Poor Yamanaka.

 

So we're left in the same boat as in August - either Nery is the real deal or Yamanaka is shot to bits. Until either of them fights somebody else (data was inconclusive from the Villanueva fight; Nery looked a few levels below the first Yamanaka performance) we can't really know which - or if a mixture of both, how much of each.

 

I did set my alarm but woke up at like 8am to find my phone's battery had crapped out in the middle of the night.

Good. Hopefully Aoh feels satisfied having scratched the revenge itch and follows suit.
