Its a mixed bag, I picked Nery to beat Yamanaka both times because style wise he was an issue for him, he's fast, active, heavy handed, awkward and a southpaw, like The God Of Left, so personally I think he would have always been an issue. But Yamanaka's best days are behind him, he's not as fast as he used to be, his footwork isn't as sharp, and most importantly, his chin has been failing him as of late, he's been dropped several times by opponents, that shouldn't necessarily be dropping him. The fight would have been 50/50 a few years ago, but due to Yamanaka's obvious decline as of late, it was more 70/30 in favor of Nery IMO. Of course I didn't tell many people that beforehand.:sisi1 Yamanaka has power but he tended to stop better opponents on long term accumulation, so I think Nery, who may seem chinny because he's been dropped twice recently, but the reality is, he just ran into shots while being reckless, hopped right back up and wasn't effected by them in the least. So as long as Nery played it safe and boxed cautiously and looked for openings and didn't fight like a wild man which he can at times, I think he could have caught him before Yamanaka did enough damage to him to stop him even when he was prime.

Nery has recieved a 1 year ban from fighting in Japan by the JBC due to failing to make weight. He is the second Mexican to be given this type of ban whilst arriving in Japan as a world champion in the last year, following Juan Hernandez.

He should already have been banned in Japan for failing a drugtest.
