Luis Nery vs Shinsuke Yamanaka II set for march 1st

It's a shame Nery can't keep his weight in check, if he's to win this rematch he was on the fast track to having one of the best lower weight resumes in the sport. He's managed to effectively negate almost all of his best career work so far.

 

Is it an accident though? He wouldn't be the first to do it deliberately to gain an advantage.

He's not the only guy taking shortcuts, but few have poleaxed their own best moments like him. He could knock out Yamanaka twice and get no credit for it between the roids and this.

And I agree with what Unleash is implying. No way you miss 5 pounds by accident. At best, he's a weight bully who needs to move up. At worst, he's just looking for another advantage because casuals don't punish overweight fighters. Better to come in heavy and win and make the weight honestly and lose for guys like thay.

I hope Yamanaka schools him and knocks him out.
