I think you have this completely backwards.

If Whyte were too cowardly to fight Ortiz, there's no way he'd fight a guy that's superior in literally every single way (Povetkin) and chase the guy that knocked Ortiz out twice (the same guy that ducked Whyte consistently).

Ortiz isn't the one being ducked.

Ortiz is at the end of his career but I still think he has a good shot of beating half of the "top 10".

Ortiz has the legs of a 65 year old man inside a 55 year old mans body.

Ortiz is just clearly more skilled. He's just fragile now. Ortiz survived some scares and his skills did the job over time.

Why oh why did Ray Flores interrupt his translator mid-sentence there? :shakehead:

"It's like when you see a tree, and you reach up for-"

I was really hoping to hear the word banana there. Fella's really gone full method-acting with the whole King Kong thing, victorious chest thumping and all.

    1) He flat-out turned down an eliminator against him.

    2) Then as soon as Ortiz signed another fight he ‘called him out’ lol.

    3) OK, so go ahead and fight him now. If your boy is STILL that scared of him, tells me a lot.

Luis Ortiz looked very beatable tonight, but he still has power and will be dangerous for whoever fights him next.

It's obvious Ortiz would be a force in his younger days. A shame he didnt have more meaningful fights..

A shot, ancient, hobbling Ortiz whose brain has been Wildered twice looked every bit of it tonight, yet despite that he had enough for Martin. Glad to see it.

Obviously should retire. But won't. His next fight likely ends badly for him.

Anyways.... congrats to the old man. Happy he got the win.

Ortiz knows perfectly southpaw vs southpaw, not everybody does. Gary Russel Jr couldnt do it properly, for instance, vs lomachenko. But ortiz has done it perfectly today. Doubling the jab and seting up the straight left hand. Basically a mirror of a normal fight, but I repeat not every pro southpaw does it properly.
