    Yeah that don't totally matter

How the hell is Sanchez ahead of Hunter and Parker ? It's ridiculous. Everyone has different top 10s i guess and even with this list Ortiz beats none of them. He's been old anyway

I'm a little confused by this. Was this a final eliminator. From what I recall the IBF final eliminator was to be Hrogvic v Hunter. But Hunter didn't want the fight. The final eliminator spot was then offered around, including to Martin. No one wanted it. Seems highly unlikely Martin would be allowed to avoid Hrgovic and fight a final eliminator against Ortiz.

So has the IBF just allowed the PBC to make a final eliminator and avoid Hrgovic? Seems a bit corrupt if that's the case.

Martin is terrible and Ortiz didn’t look good at all. Nice comeback but his legs and balance are bad.

    Interesting from Dubblechin...
Luis Ortiz is rated in the top 10 by EVERY sanctioning body (WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO) and he's been rated in the Ring top 10 continously now approaching four years.

After tonight, he will only move up.

I think people are selling Ortiz short He is obviously a shadow of the fighter he was but still dangerous and should be given credit for the career he has had...

No idea but I saw it reported on Twitter by one of the boxing reporters and assumed it was true. He went through the scenarios of how long Ortiz might have to wait but said he will get an IBF shot but it’s after the Whyte business gets sorted, a possible unification and then I think a WBA mandatory.

EDIT: Just checked and it’s billed as an IBF eliminator on PBC’s tweets advertising the fight too.

Cheers that makes sense. I think you are correct that the WBA would be up first.

I think Hammer has taken on the mantle from King Pin, the guy you bring in to give your prospect rounds whilst still being enough of a name to keep fans interested.

I'm with you, confused. Last I heard Hrgy was trying to get a IBF eliminator but couldn't get an opponent. Was this a final eliminator? Is Ortiz mandatory now for the IBF or does he have to fight the winner of a hrgovic vs ??? For the final eliminator

Dillian Whyte has nothing to do with the IBF.

Usyk and Joshua have a rematch clause. That rematch is Usyk's "optional" defense.

After the Usyk-Joshua rematch, the winner (whoever that may be) has to start making mandatory defenses.

If the IBF champ at that time wants to unify with Fury, he has to ask the IBF for permission. It will be approaching two years since an IBF mandatory. So they may not give that permission.

If there is no unification fight to even sign, the WBA mandatory is up first. But no one knows who the WBA mandatory is. Bryan and Charr are supposed to fight at the end of this month. But that fight has been cancelled before. Also, Helenius has won a WBA eliminator ... so the WBA is a mass of confusion.

If there is no WBA mandatory to face, you move to the next mando, which is the IBF. After that comes the WBO mandatory.

Either way, the IBF mandatory defense should happen this year.

    I hope so.

Whyte has gone round and round (in court and arbitration, etc.) with the WBC for a shot at Fury. It’s now looking like Fury will either fight him or fight a ‘non-title fight’ next.

And of course Joshua and Usyk are rematching.

The belief is that Fury will fight the winner in the next fight for himself (after Whyte or a ‘non-title’ whatever that means) and the Usyk/AJ winner. That may have to involve some step-aside money or whatever.

But you do have a point on the WBA mandatory being a bit up in the air. The IBF may step in to get its mandatory sooner rather than later.

I’d like to see Ortiz get a shot as he’s been avoided by everyone but Wilder for quite a while. He’s a southpaw with power and boxing skills. He’s also getting older and didn’t look particularly good in this fight, but it doesn’t mean he can’t turn the clock back a bit and retain form for one fight — we’ve all seen fighters look terrible and then put on good performances later.

How do you avoid a PBC fighter? most aren't even allowed to entertain the idea of anything non-PBC.

Ortiz looked awful despite the stoppage. I'd pick Chisora to TKO him after seeing that fight.

    That’s not exactly true.

For one thing he had an eliminator ordered with Dillian Whyte, who refused it.

And there’s no reason to believe PBC wouldn’t have let Ortiz fight Anthony Joshua (after AJ-Wlad, the WBA ordered it but I’m not sure what happened after that to make it not happen) — after all, they let Ruiz fight him.

Not is there reason to believe that PBC would have kept Ortiz out of any eliminator.

What I know is we haven’t seen any effort from anyone to try to make a fight with him other than Wilder.

AJ tried fighting Ortiz, which Ortiz refused, so it's not as though he was avoided by any belt holders at the time.

Ortiz has no chin, none at all.

    Babic, would destroy this chump.
