Ortiz was an old 50 year old sick man who almost knocked Wilder out, Wilder had some help from Haymon's referee and Haymon's judges were giving Wilder the fight as predicted. Wilder was clearly winning every round except two. Ortiz' sickness got to him and he got sloppy, but he did really well, esp. for an old sick man..............Ortiz was not allowed to fight Wilder because he was taking blood pressure meds, but it is OK for El Pollo to take PEDS, he got caught, yet WBA, WBC says it's OK for El Pollo to take PEDS, just not Brown or anyone else!

Props to Ortiz for nearly beating wilder, imagine what and Ortiz in his 30’s would do to all these heavyweights.

I can't say, Team Ortiz is crying about the DR check in the 8th not health so I imagine he felt like he did a good job himself. I don't mean to say I expect Ortiz to make excuses, but if he felt like he could have done better with different circumstances; he's not been shy about that.

That said, those trying to pretend like an illness negates the ballet of physics we all witnessed are low. The question is not did Luis put up a great fight, yes he most certainly did, whoopin' Wilder from pillar to post and all. The question is could he have done better as a healthy man, imo. To that end I'll not believe that until Kong claims it.

Best I can tell Team Ortiz is happy with everything but the moments when the Dr check Wilder ringside. I think it's a shame so many want to take from Kong's display to try to prove a point against Wilder though the transitive.

He was. There are plenty of blood pressure medications that don’t contained banned substances.

Roberto Duran was almost not allowed to fight SRL in their first fight in Montreal. Pre-fight physical showed heart issues. He had to have a complete heart work-up and was cleared.

Ortiz was checked out and found fit to fight. The bout itself proves this to be the correct decision. It was precautionary.

Big win for Wilder. Haters gonna hate and try to find a way to invalidate anything he does. SMH.

The commission nearly pulled Uzcategui out of the Dirrell rematch, too, and delayed the start of that fight by a half hour.

What a cluster that would've been if the commission pulled both Uzcategui and Ortiz.

Their commission doctors need to "nut up" as they say.

Who is running that commission, Dr. Phil? Are they going to start blocking fights if someone has hurt feelings, too?

Tru School Sports said that he visited Ortiz in the gym months ago and they already him depleted. They pushed him out into the parking lot so that he couldn't watch Ortiz sparring, but everyone there was whispering about how exhausted and physically depleted he was. He said that when he actually saw and talked to Ortiz that he was visibly exhausted all the time.

This is probably why he came in over 240 in the biggest fight of his life when he probably should've been 230-235. He probably had to lay off training to a considerable degree so as not to come into the ring completely spent, which is obviously what happened anyways.

Yep, and his 2nd best win was a sickly Stiverne. It's amazing that people don't understand what is going on through all of this.

The NYSAC flew Charles Martin in Friday night because they were incredibly concerned about Ortiz's blood pressure right up until Saturday afternoon. They were almost certain to pull Ortiz out of there due to the health concerns.

Boxing with high blood pressure like Luis Ortiz has been doing has been stated by medical professionals, athletic commisions, and doctors to be actually quite dangerous.

According to medical research today; you should not do the following, as they can raise your blood pressure to dangerous levels for a short period of time: Lift heavy weights without supervision from a qualified exercise trainer, and vigorous short bursts of exercise like boxing or squash.

There are two main types of physical activity: aerobic (or dynamic) and isometric (or static) exercise. Our bodies react differently to different types of exercise.

Boxing to a large degree involves isometric oriented exercises, but burst type of exercise can raise blood pressure during exercise. This burst can result in rapid changes in blood pressure which places severe strain on the heart and blood vessels. This form of activity involves a sustained contraction of one set of muscles. As a result, the heart beats harder, as only a small number of muscles are being used. This results in a decreased space for the blood to flow in. This results in a rapid rise in blood pressure, extra strain on the heart and blood vessels, and highly increased risk.

According to Dr. Adam Balogh - World Boxing Federation (WBF) Medical Advisor: (xv) Blood Pressure: To be average for age. Any boxer with a systolic pressure over one hundred fifty (150) or a diastolic pressure above ninety (90) is suspect and should have a special investigation.

Ortiz's senile old ass can't even change his own diaper without the assistance of his carer.
