Well he is the big star he is because he fought the best (with fury gone) there was in less than 20 fights.

Its no crime for AJ to let a guy with Wilders record after nearly 40 fights wait 2 to 3 fights before fighting him.

Don't pretend otherwise. Just look at Wilders record after nearly 40 fights and accept why that would not be the CRIME you claim it to be.

AJ is the big star that he is for a variety of factors. Fan friendly style. KOs. He's extremely good looking. He's built like the hulk. He's likeale. He's got a gold medal. UK boxing is in a great state.

AJ fought in front of a sold out 20k person filled arena on PPV vs a NOBODY by the name of Charles Martin. Charles got 5 plus million for that fight. Don't tell me that he got all
That pull due to his accomplishments in the ring. AJ is the right man, right place, right time.

The Wlad fight was brilliant and they all got paid well. AJ nearly lost that fight. But he dig deep and won.

Bottom line: to say that AJs popularity is based off his boxing talent alone is absurd. It's his talent plus all the OTHER non boxing factors that have allowed him to become the star that he is.

So going back to what I originally said; AJs fans will let him get away with far more than the average boxer. For the love of God how many AJ fans are women?? You think these ladies care about unification?

As bold and confident as he is in his PR mouthing-tirades, you would think you would be willing to fight anyone, yet he won't fight ---anyone---- with a decent record.


When you are a titleholder and your best fight has been Stiverne, something is obviously going on to protect this guy.

Do you really think that if his mandatory was Brazealle or Arreola that he would've tried to postpone it in order to fight Martin? Both were under Al Haymon so there surely was no rush. Also, a detail which he left out was that before attempting to unify, Wilder's team requested another voluntary fight instead of Povetkin, before trying to unify, and also then tried to buy off Povetkin outright.
