Thanks for making the posts above ... starts to make a bit of sense now. WBA are a joke and allowing title fights in a corrupt backward place like they did only brought the troubles this tournament has upon itself. Had Chagaev's previous fights been legit the whole thing would be resolved now ... but now the general public is probably fed up with the WBA's antics and it's lost all its cred/status as a legit heavyweight concern. I admit it freely, I'm a casual boxing fan ... but I'm a strong fan of sports and generally spend money on sports across the board that I have an interest in. I follow heavyweights and boxers from my own country, as well as boxers like Usyk/Povetkin who were high quality amateurs. I can come and go ... and HW's are putting me right off ATM. We have Haye/Briggs and now even T Fury (with one great signature win) who are messing fans around with endless antics and delays, rather than providing the meaningful boxing matches that the sport needs. We have other lingering fighter who are near their last legs either age wise or injury wise Mansour/Helenis/Tarver who are fine but could be providing fights against up coming young HWs. There's Solis types like Andy Ruiz, there's inactive placeholders like Malik Scott. There's lots of drug tainted HW's (fairly or unfairly) who are still interesting if they are active. There's also HWs who have had a loss and gone into their shell, Pulev, Jennings, etc. And of course there's Wilder ... who has his own game plan but has exhausted all patience. HWs like Joshua, Parker and even Teslenko offer some hope of being top no-nonsense HWs who fight quality on a regular basis with little drama, much like Wlad did. Boxing can't afford to lose touch with casuals and mainstream media by having its most accessible division plagued by problematic issues and sagas. The more casuals, the more money that comes in to support the sport and its participants, but sports fans need a product that actually does provide interesting quality fights between the top players, otherwise they drift away to sports that have more to offer.
Ustinov must be one scary dude. First Fury leaves him at the alter and now Ortiz breaks off the engagement.
both Fury's pulled out of Ustinov fights! someone with too much free time needs to make a full list of the guys that ducked Ustinov! Kimbo Slice is one of em...
everybody is running from... a guy Pulev was able to TKO in the final round! then Pulev got KTFO by Waldo! I guess it's high risk with low gain kinda fight! I bet Burger Squad would avoid him also... :burger Burger Squad!! :deal
