Ortiz is done. He's old and will decline quickly. He'll never get to fight Wilder, Fury, Klit or Joshua. He'll be shot by the time they are willing to fight him. Maybe not Klit, because he's proven he fights whoever is out there, but it's not a fight that will happen anyway for other reasons.
Carlos Takam hasn't beaten anyone who wasn't in his 40s and well past it - Michael Grant, Frans Botha, Tony Thompson. Takam might be the most overrated guy on this message board. Ortiz (who isn't 40 yet), destroys the overrated Takam by the fifth or sixth round. It won't even be close.
He is often dodged in the division also. Of all the gatekeepers around, Takam must be up there to prove that you are top 20. His style is limited but he can cause issues for unprepared fighters.
If Ortiz takes out Takam in devastating fashion, how will that reflect on Parker, who went the distance with Takam not long ago?
If you've been watching boxing throughout the years, you'd know that doesnt matter. Familiar with the saying 'styles make fights?'. In saying that, I would be making comparisons post fight with the Parker/Takam fight but any "reflections" wouldnt be clear.
Takam's rugged style may well make for a good fight against Ortiz; but I'm familiar with the notion that Takam doesn't have the style or the variation to actually beat Ortiz.
Takam is very overrated. He doesn't have the activity to bother Ortiz and force him to show his possible stamina issues. Ortiz should take this scalp.
