Brooklyn isn't a city it's a borough of New York city, that's like saying Harlem is a city or in the case of London, Tower Hamlets or Shoreditch is a city. Though I agree is regards to the fact the MSG is far from sold out for Joshua's fight, it's yet to be proven to me that Joshua can draw in the US at all.
No, Wilder-Breazeale is in Brooklyn. At the Barclays Center. Joshua vs. TBA is in New York City (Midtown Manhattan) at Madison Square Garden. The EAST RIVER separates them.
Lol just checked the availability for Wilder/Breazeale and with 3.5 weeks to go it's probably sold half the tickets. Looks like Wilder will fail to sell out the Barclays again. I'm guessing all those people that bought tickets for Fury/Wilder were Fury fans at least that's what it sounded like.
The promoter of Wilder-Breazeale didn't announce TWO HOURS after tickets went on sale that it was a sellout, like Hearn did with Joshua-Miller. Eddie Hearn publicly announced TWO MONTHS AGO, TWO HOURS after tickets went on sale, that the Joshua-Miller fight was a sellout ... just before Hearn took the thousands of tickets that had supposedly sold and dumped them online ... where they still remain up for sale. You guys do love to believe the hype, that's for sure. Oh, there's a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.
Stop lying. Provide the source for the quote. He said the presale tickets sold out not the arena but hey when you have an anti hearn and anti Joshua agenda you can just make up BS. Now do explain why the 'most popular boxer on the planet' is not selling out the barclays Centre.
He never said that, it broke the MSG pre-sale record and like any good promoter said, people should get tickets before it's sold out. That's not the same as saying it was actually already sold out, which would of been impossible as not all the tickets had even been released.
Brooklyn is in New York City, it is a borough within the city. If you are in Brooklyn you are in NYC. If you are in NYC, you may not necessarily be in Brooklyn, but you could be, or any of the other boroughs. Also, StubHub is a market for resale tickets. I am not arguing that there are not a lot of tickets left, but if you buy a ticket from StubHub you are buying from another person, who already bought a ticket and turned around to sell it on that site. It is a ticket exchange site.
I know what a borough is. I was trying to convey that fighting at Barclays in Brooklyn isn't remotely the same as fighting at Madison Square Garden. There are also thousands of tickets available on Ticketmaster. I posted the link. There are thousands of tickets for sale everywhere. Plenty of seats available. That's all.
The MOST FAMOUS Boxer. Get it right. Because, unlike the UK, there is more to do here than watch boxing, soccer and darts. Which is why Hearn felt the need to paper the house, because Hearn's "manhood" is seemingly tied to every gate. It's not the 1940s. Wilder always outdraws Joshua on TV. My ban bet remains in effect if you'd like to take it, regardless of who Joshua fights. More people will watch Wilder-Breazeale in the US AND THE UK than will watch Joshua vs whomever he decides to fight. I would've gladly taken the ban to see Joshua-Usyk. That may have gotten Brits stay up. This mess, whatever is coming, won't.
The excuses for failing to shift tickets v Breazeale. Its not that difficult to just say 'Wilder isn't a huge draw at the gate'.
Wilder isn't a huge draw at the gate. But millions watch him on television all over the world. He's the perfect TV fighter. He always delivers. And gates have been overrated since the advent of television. Holmes defended the WBC belt against Shavers in the fall of 1979 in Las Vegas. The undercard was loaded. Sugar Ray Leonard fought on it. Roberto Duran. Wilfredo Gomez defended his title. Michael Dokes and Jimmy Young fought each other. There were roughly 3,000 people in attendance. A month later, 80,000 watched John Tate fight Gerrie Coetzee for the WBA title in South Africa, after roughly 50,000 saw Tate fight Knoetzee there. Mayweather is the most famous boxer alive, made tons more than Joshua's highest purse ... and I don't think he ever sold more than 19,000 tickets to a fight. Gates are nice. It's definitely more fun to watch fights where there are a ton of people in the crowd. If Hearn wants to paper the house, fine. If Wilder's don't feel the need, fine. Larry Holmes was never a big gate attraction. He did just fine.
I'd like to offer you 10x your previous asking price and 6 weeks to ship your bridge to me. Oh wait... scrap that as you'll think that's a terrible lowball offer.
