Luis Ortiz real height and reach revealed as.......

His reach always came across as much longer though

 

I knew his dimensions were exaggerated but that's by quite a lot.

It's not the only bio detail he's altered ...

 

No, he's not really a natural blond.

 

Yeah when you see him stand next to Wilder it's pretty obvious he's not as tall as he claims to be. 6'3" in this era is slightly on the small side, I'd say 6'4" is average now for a heavyweight, hence the need to exaggerate his stature.

People in general tend to exaggerate their height. I'm only 5'5" and when I tell people they don't believe it, say I am definitely taller than that. I've come to the conclusion most people when claiming their height do so when wearing their shoes which of course adds 1-2 inches if not more depending upon their choice of footwear. So when I say I'm 5'5" they don't believe it because they have people they know who are claiming 5'7" or 5'8" who are the same height as me.

 

Technically, reach is from armpit to the fist. Wingspan, is fingertip to fingertip, the width of the back also being included.

 

Best measurment should be reaction/Distance/time.

 

Golota's reach was 84 inches. Ortiz is 6 feet 4 inches tall, but before the weigh-in they said that Ortiz' reach was only 68 inches, that is not true....................

 

Yeah I heard that during the weigh in and knew it was bull****, even Tyson had a bigger reach than that. Hell most welterweights have bigger reaches than that.

 

Could be that Ortiz put that out to fool Wilder. George Foreman would never reveal his true reach, he always kept it a secret.....................

It is psychological, for the fans & to feel better/bigger for the athletes themselves sometimes. Though many times it is just be done for them by the teams.

 

Nope shorter folks more often lie. More men, as whatever is culturally valued people are insecure about & overstate. Also people round their heights up to numbers that are more accepted or iconic-like 6' for men. Many times only with shoes are they accurate.

That does not mean that you are not completely honest & an exception though.
