How does a fight go between Ortiz if he fought in place of Ron Lyle vs George Foreman?

Ortiz by KO. He was still a brisky 43-year old back then.

Lyle was 34 unless that was a typo.

Ortiz is a bum and would have made a better replacement for one of the five guys Foreman fought in a single night in 1975.

So I take it you pick Foreman to KO Ortiz?

Ortiz by KO. Foreman was a massive heavyweight at 6-3 220 in the 70's. guys in the lighter weight classes would have done OK today, but not heavyweight sluggers.

Foreman struggles to land anything clean. If Ortiz gasses, which he very well may, then Foreman could really test his heart.

Who has Ortiz beat to make anyone think he could handle Foreman, even a shell shocked Foreman from the Lyle fight?

Even Jennings was able to land a lot on Ortiz. Ortiz doesn't have the foot work to get out of the way of Foreman. Maybe he does what Lyle did and can catch Foreman coming in and drop him, but as that fight proved keeping him down is harder than putting him down and if you can't get out of the way or absorb a shot like Ali then you're probably gonna get hurt.

Still, it'd be a hell of a slugfest IMO

Didn't Ortiz nearly have to fill in for Ron Lyle that fight?

He is referring to Ortiz' age. Ortiz was probably born in the 1940s.

Joe Louis was champion when Ortiz was born.
