39 ? Try 48! i still wouldn't assume anything as he's a better fighter then anyone outside the main two of he retains his health or most of it. He's a very dangerous fighter even if he's a mid fight fighter. I He's either going to be better or worse from fight to fight so......
I don't think he needs to rebuild. I think he just needs to train well and fight more. Would love to see him fight anybody in the top 10 a couple or 3 times a year. Wouldn't mind a Wilder rematch. That was a good fight.
I didn't think Joshua looked good either, but I thought he won the fight by a comfortable margin. I don't understand how some thought Parker won. There were one or two rounds he looked like he might step it up, but he went back into his shell and seemed content with losing a decision in the later rounds. Joshua didn't do much either, but Parker should have stepped up his offense since he was losing. I don't think going the distance with Joshua is impressive considering how he fought.
I hope Ortiz takes a decent fight instead of being inactive or fighting low level guys. He's already wasted too much of his career doing that. He's one of the most skilled heavyweights out there, but he's getting old, and after the Wilder fight he will be avoided like he was before. He's too much of a risk for too little reward.
I sure did not have Parker ahead but he did show some flashes of fight in there with AJ I agree that when we thought Parker was about to put the foot on the gas he never got there that night. It was a nice fight and I expected more from both guys that night Thanks brother
Yeah I can't see how anyone gave it to Parker either, he was out boxed for long stretches of the fight. He's improved his defensive skills since winning the belt vs Ruiz Jr but his biggest problem now is his offence. He looks good vs a stationary target when he can set his feet and let his hands go but when on the move his lack of counter punching means he has to stop moving and switch back to his easier to hit style of old to mount any kind of attack. He's a fighter caught between 2 styles one where he can let his hands go but is easy to hit and one where he's hard to hit but can't mount any offense. Joshua has issues cutting off the ring we saw that vs Takam and Parker. Both guys flaws led to a lack luster fight where one couldn't walk down the other and the other couldn't mount an attack without exposing himself to being countered and so chose not to attack as much as he could have.
Haye should make a deal for Ortiz vs Joyce, make it a marquee fight and put up some cash. The toe faker is dripping with money after the Bellew sbo fights.
I know we joke about his age but honestly his Wilder fight was really his last chance as he is only getting worse gong forward.. Yes he was close to winning but that fight was an extremely slow paced and his gas tank still couldn't last... I think like most Wilder fights we remember the Windmillâ„¢ Knock Outs but not the slow paced stuff in between which the crowd boo'd in multiple rounds... Really he needs to focus on making some money...
This is likely true, Ortiz is at an age where his time at the top as a contender is very limited, he could easily be shot by his next fight, he's nearing 40. He doesn't have time to waste if he's to finally make some decent money as he's already in decline and only going to get worse.
This. Even Fury after winning the titles from Wlad laughed at the thought of fighting Ortiz. He admitted that Ortiz is a skilled fighter and a legitimate threat, but brings no money to the table and that beating Ortiz wouldn't gain him any credit, since Ortiz is old. Back in 2015 Fury said that the only person at the top that would probably fight Ortiz was Wilder, which turned out to be true. Joshua and Hearn also were never going to fight Oritz, which is why Ortiz walked away from his WBA mandatory to fight Wilder. Can't see Parker, Whyte, or Miller fighting Ortiz either until maybe another 3-4 years pass by.
Mandatory to WBC runs through Ortiz, so I hope you are wrong. Would be a shame if he wasn't tested against another top HW.
