Now Ortiz and AJ both in Hearn's team. Ortiz is hunting down World honors and will make his European debut in November in his first fight under the Matchroom banner
Thats great news, hopefully this means Ortiz gets a title shot soon. I think Hearn is making a smart move, sign Ortiz before he becomes AJ mandatory and they might have to swerve him.
Interesting move for EH Means he now has AJ Whyte Price Ortiz In his heavyweight stable... It's looking strong and interesting, I think he wants a big boy at nearly every event now.... Hey, I'm not complaining
King Kong could take out Hearn's entire HW roster in 5 rounds tops, Price in 1, Whyte in 3 and AJ in 1.
Can see this being the first of many making the journey across the Atlantic to the new home of boxing. Nowhere in the world is boxing as popular as the UK now.
I think you're onto something . I can totally see other fighters signing with Matchroom, probably a lot of pbc fighters once that company goes under.
That crazy fool Dereck Chisora would randomly show up at a Luis Ortiz / Matchroom press conference, throw a glass of water in Ortiz's face, and challenge Ortiz to a fight. Once the Ortiz vs Chisora fight is made, Chizzy would then plant a sloppy kiss on Ortiz at the weigh-in, and get wiped out for his insolence by an uncompromising King Kong Ortiz.
Ortiz a prime example of a guy who has everything to gain from it. A big KO artist with no distinguishable fan base in the US outside the hardcores.
He was never gonna become AJ's mandatory because he held that paper iterim belt. Like with Eubank, Hearn's first move with Ortiz will be to ditch that and make him available for AJ.
Good signing but I can't help that Luis Ortiz has hardly any money to take home after fights. I think Hearn is exploiting King Kong.
