Luis Ortiz turned down Joe Joyce....

    Time for old Papa to retire then. What sort of fight is Ortiz waiting for then? I think If Takam was beating Joyce on points and so was Dubois then Ortiz could take this via decision.

    If he beat Joyce he'd become mandatory challenger for Joshua. No point challenging for the wbc, as he'd stand no change against Fury, so fighting via the other belts seems his best option if he wants to cash out before retirement and have one last shot.

    Don't understand why Ortiz hasn't announced retirement yet, who could he possibly waiting to fight?

    Before the TKO I though he was. He landed more of the better shots I thought.

    didn't the judges scorecards have him up before the stoppage?i thought Joyce was winning personally.

    Dubois was up on the cards, because Warren wanted him to be. Did you see how gutted he was when Joyce won


    Anyway back to Ortiz. I think the PBC are going to keep him in house

    First he turns down Joshua now he’s turning down Joyce and yet people hold him up as some kind of yardstick to show how good Wilder is.

    Ortiz should retire. He don't deserve to fight for big money if he don't even want to fight Joyce.

    Not a surprise, PBC need to keep Ortiz away from anyone decent in case they expose the one good win on Wilder's resume as being far less impressive as initially thought.

    As for the scoring of Joyce/Dubois, it was a competitive fight up to the point of the stoppage but I had Joyce up on the scorecards. I can't recall my exact scoring right now but my general feel of the fight was Dubois was having to give it his all just to be competitive while Joyce was comfortably out boxing Dubois and controlling him for long periods and was maybe later in the fight going to slowly turn it up and try to stop him. We never really got to see Joyce put it to Dubois as Dubois quit before Joyce felt he was ready to be finished off.

    Leave Ortiz alone, I'm sure I read the average age of a person dying of Covid is 80+ Years old.


    Ortiz is obviously high risk and doesn't want to travel.


    That said, we have to remember Ortiz turned down fights with Tommy Burns, Jack Johnson, Jess Willard and Jack Dempsey so he does have a history of this.

    On a serious not we do actually know he is taking medication for blood pressure and hypertension is a risk factor for Covid so he is on the vulnerable list.
